The best part is creating unforgettable memories together with your guests and colleagues! Being able to combine your love for cooking and sailing while spending time and sailing with amazing people is unbeatable! 😍

How would you describe a day onboard the boat?

As cliché as it sounds, no two days are the same, but one thing you can count on is delicious food, lots of swimming, and hopefully some fantastic sailing! ⛵️

Highlight of the summer?
〜〜〜〜〜
After a sunny day with calm seas along the coast of Hvar, we sailed into a cove on an island called Šćedro that’s barely visible from the sea. Once inside, my skipper Tilde and I docked at a buoy. We enjoyed a delicious afternoon snack, took a swim, and then took the dinghy to Restaurant Moster with our guests. We had an amazing dinner and watched the sunset 🌅. The cove and the restaurant are truly hidden gems, and this is just one example. Croatia is full of small coves with charming restaurants, and it’s an indescribable experience!!

What makes Croatia such a great sailing destination, in your opinion?

I had never been to Croatia before I started working with More Sailing, but I’m completely sold. Croatia has it all – blue waters, picturesque villages, and welcoming harbors! And just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s always a new place to explore! ☀️

Your best tip for someone who has never traveled with More Sailing but is curious?

Take the leap and hop onboard! Exploring and experiencing a country from the sea is, in my opinion, the best way to travel. Get onboard, enjoy the sailing, and let us, the crew, take care of the rest! It will be an experience you’ll never forget 🤝🏽

👀 Do you need to know how to sail to go on a sailing trip with More Sailing?
〜〜〜〜〜
Absolutely not. I would say the majority of guests don’t have much prior sailing experience. During the trip, you can help out and learn as much or as little as you want about sailing, navigation, and boat handling. If you’d rather just relax and read a book all day, you’re more than welcome to do that! The skipper and host onboard can handle both the sails and the boat, so there’s no requirement for guests to assist.

⛵️ What’s the difference between sailing a monohull and a catamaran?
〜〜〜〜〜
There are many differences, but one key point is that a catamaran doesn’t tilt in the same way a monohull does when sailing, which can be more comfortable for those who prefer stability. Catamarans are also often harder to sail upwind or close-hauled, as they can’t point as high into the wind as a monohull.

🤢 If I’m worried about seasickness, which destination and season should I choose?
〜〜〜〜〜
If you’re concerned about seasickness due to windier weather, the peak season—mid-summer—is the best time to aim for since the weather is usually calmer then. Seasickness is also something we, as crew, are knowledgeable about and can help prevent for guests who are prone to it.

The best thing about a sailing trip is the constant closeness to the sea and the fact that the boat itself is both your accommodation and the main activity of the trip. You get relaxation, swimming, activity, food, and lodging all in one place!

✨What inspired you to go on a sailing trip?
– I’ve actually sailed across the Atlantic before and once sailed in Croatia with friends. The surroundings in Croatia are so wonderful, with picturesque villages in different bays and the chance to see new things every day. I wanted my family and friends to experience that.

✨ What was the best part of traveling with family and friends on a sailing trip?
– The best part was definitely all the quality time we got to spend together! We also had an amazing crew on board who made the trip even more special. They showed us the best sides of Croatia, with new places every day, delicious food, and incredible service delivered in such a thoughtful way. They were fantastic!

✨What was the best part of sailing in Croatia?
– The variety you get when traveling on a sailboat, seeing new places every day. I absolutely love that! It almost feels like traveling back in time when you visit the villages in Croatia. You feel like an explorer, and I’m so glad my family and friends got to experience that. Looking back, I have to say this was probably the best trip I’ve ever taken. My family and friends were just as blown away as I was.

✨ Your best tip for others considering a sailing trip?
– Just do it! Go for it. I’ve met so many people who went on their first trip with More Sailing, and everyone I’ve talked to has been amazed at how incredibly smooth everything went. If you want to discover something new and have an unforgettable trip, I think you should absolutely go.

✨ What inspired you to go on a sailing trip?
– We've always dreamed of living on the sea, and when we heard about your trips, I felt we just had to try sailing. Usually, when we travel abroad, we experience and see a lot, and sailing is quite similar. You discover new places every day— it suits us perfectly! So going into the trip, we felt we’d absolutely love it.

✨ How did it work out traveling with a child on a boat?
– We have a pretty travel-savvy baby, but we were definitely a bit nervous about how it would go on the boat since she had just started walking. But wow, it went so much better than we could have imagined. After a week on the sailboat, Solvej’s balance was fantastic! You could lay her down on the couch, watch her, and she’d fall asleep because the sea rocked her gently. The only challenge was the heat — it was over 40 degrees Celsius on some days.

✨ Your best tip for someone considering traveling with children?
– Just go for it, book it! We had thoughts about how it would go, but as soon as we got on board, all concerns disappeared, and it was so much easier than we’d thought. I truly believe children of all ages would appreciate it!

✨ Would you consider doing a similar trip in the future?
– In a heartbeat! One day, we’re going to live on a boat, 100%.

5 Things to See & Do in Picturesque Trogir, Croatia 🇭🇷

Trogir is one of Croatia’s most beautiful cities, with narrow cobblestone streets, stunning churches and palaces, charming restaurants, and just a stone’s throw from Croatia’s most beautiful islands. It’s no surprise that Trogir is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage city, and for history enthusiasts, Trogir is a dream. Did you know that scenes from the TV series Game of Thrones were filmed in the city?

📍 Stroll around the Old Town
It's like a journey back in time with churches dating back to the 15th century. Take your time to explore Trogir’s labyrinth-like alleys with cute shops, cafés, and landmarks.

📍 Hang out along the Riva promenade
The promenade is at its best during sunset when restaurants entice with drinks on large outdoor terraces, and the palm trees provide shade for park benches, perfect for people-watching. A favorite spot for both locals and tourists.

🔸 Komiza on the island of Vis, which by the way, is my favorite island. Komiza feels like it's straight out of a Disney fairytale – incredibly cozy!

🔸 Zlatan Otok on the island of Hvar, because it's the most beautiful place on earth, and the sailing there is absolutely magical.

🔸 Jelsa on the island of Hvar, which has everything you could wish for! Beautiful views, a lively town with colorful houses, and amazing food – don’t miss the restaurant Spizza!

Speaking of food – what kind of food can guests expect on board the boat?
〜〜〜〜〜
– I try to adapt to the guests as much as possible and create a variety so that all guests have the best food experience possible! For me, meals are a big part of creating wonderful memories on a memorable trip. Every morning, a breakfast buffet is served, around 11 we toast with snacks, at lunch I usually prepare everything from fresh poké bowls to classic Croatian Ćevapi, and when we dock at the harbor, we finish the day with a docking snack! Every day is a new menu that I adjust just for my guests!

Why do you think people should go on a sailing vacation?
〜〜〜〜〜
– A sailing vacation offers an amazing way to see a destination from a new perspective! You get to experience magical natural coves that can’t be reached by car or ferry, and if you're lucky, dolphins will accompany you on your way to the next destination. 🐬 You can swim whenever you like, and the journey itself is so much more beautiful and magical compared to a road trip where you're tied to the wheel and hectic traffic! With us at More Sailing, you get to enjoy a stress-free vacation where you don’t have to lift a finger!
