⛑ First Aid Certification ⛑
In 2021 our founder Johannes was trained for two intense weeks by NOLS to become a certified Wilderness First Responder. Theory, practice and role playing was combined into a very immersive and humbling learning experience - resulting in a broad knowledge of how to assist people with health issues - in the wilderness.

🌊 Meeting Mountains is, as the name implies, focusing on land activities and when we arrange for our guests to go on the Soča River we collaborate with agencies who hire experienced white water instructors. However, to get more insight and understanding, two years ago our founder Johannes took a course to become a recreational whitewater rescue technician.

🤲❤️‍🩹Meeting Mountains believe that all lives are worth equal and that the world's wealth is distributed unfairly. Our founder Johannes has pledged to give minimum 10% of his income to effective charities for the rest of his life. The "effective" is an important part here. Some charities are 10x more effective with using donations than others. Effective Altruism is an organisation who's supporting research how to get the most bang out of your buck. If you want help by donating your time or money then don't hesitate to chat to us about it.

P**a Arena from around 60BC is the worlds sixth largest colosseum and one of the best preserved. Located about three hours from Soča Valley, this Roman time relic is worth a visit - especially when combined with Croatian seafood 😋

😳 Soča Valley Graffitti 🐮
In a very tiny village, even smaller than the average tiny village, you can find this wall art work. I visit it sometimes when I bring guests to a nearby homestead for genuine home cooked meals, but I have never seen anyone around to ask about it’s history. Well, the cats are non responsive.

One day I hope to meet the motive or artist.

We choose as our go-to winery when we go E-biking and wine tasting in Goriška Brda. Jan and Ilse from the Netherlands enjoyed the wines and finger food we had on our visit a few days ago. So did we.

Travelblogger MissClaire and her photographer Silvia visited the Soča Valley and went snow shoeing with us in the glimmering valley of Zadnja Trenta. We genuinely had such a fun day together with many moments of laughter, insight and gratitude.
