Back in Almerimar to do maintenance and pull the boat on the hard until spring. She has been in the water two years now and we want to check corrosion, thru hull fittings and more.
This time I traveled Copenhagen -> Barcelona -> Almeria and then a short bus trip to Almerimar. Right now I enjoy a good lunch at the beach in Almeria. A very nice place and nice marina by the way.

I spent 2 weeks slowly cruising north towards Alicante the last two weeks of May. Bad weather Thunderstorms had us waiting in Garrucha and Cartagena several days. I had two friends Elizabeth and Cyprien to help me. It was not a glossy Med cruise. Their vacation ended 30 May when we were docked in Santa Pola. I stayed 2 weeks in Marina Club Nautico.
I tried to find a crew here on Facebook but I ended sail back to Almerimar alone.
Just arrived after a 3 day trip mainly motoring. Anchored in bays over night.

Landgång, Planka, Pasarele. Actually a must for Mediterranean Greta Garbo Sailing. My Plank is from 2003 bought in Itaca Greece. It is still following me around the med. The second picture is from Santa Pola where today the plank gives me safe passage to the dock.
One problem is that crews including myself are more heavy today than 2003.
I have several other much more expensive equipment that don’t last more than a few seasons.
I like my plank !

Stayed four days in Garrucha waiting for the right winds to sail on to Cartagena. We are 5 boats sailing together. We have had some nice GT evenings telling sea stories. My crew is international with Elizabeth Jillanne Mackenzie from Oregon and Cyprien from France
We will stay a few days in Cartagena and then continue north.

May 1 has different meanings for for people. For me it means the beginning of the sailing season in Mediterranean. GretaGarbo has been in the water all winter so there some spring cleaning to do. Also a few projects as usual. Have to sort out the anchor winch and fix the hot water for shower. Flying down to Malaga on Wednesday. If someone is keen on going to Spain you are welcome onboard

Winter in Almerimar Marina. You only know it’s winter because of the snow capped sierras. Today blue skies and 19 degrees. However it can be very windy at times, and you need a blanket and pyamas in the boat at night. One can participate in a variety of social activities, and with 3 chandeliers you can always get everything you need for maintenance of the boat.

Lazy days onboard GretaGarbo The ocean is still warm enough and the boat is like having an apartment. We have had guests onboard for an extended weekend. We went sailing and swimming from the boat. Almerimar has a large wintering group of boat owners from Scandinavian countries. We meet for coffee and other activities regularly

The new solar panel makes us totally independent from shore power. 40mm stainless tubing makes it even possible to hang the dinghy off the water. The old panel was 100w and imported at a cost of 10000 The new one is 260w at less then half the cost
