Two days ago two Swedish sweaty cyclists crossed the equator. Now, 48 hours later, we smell of deodorant instead of sweat and instead of looking for cheap chapatti we are in pursuit of cheap beer in Kampala. Have a great night, wherever you are!

Finally done! 1655 km of road, gravel, dirt, bush, animals and lot of friendly and welcoming people. We have now reached our main goal, kampala and checked in to a hotel. For the first time since arusha we will now enjoy a sit-toilet (not just hole in the ground), shower with warm water, roads and houses with pavement and wifi! Hopefully we will also find a bar full of beer where we can spend the evening :) cheers

Today we have done a lot of wrong turns causing us to spend much more time in the bush than anticipated. At first it was a bit fun but after a while we were really longing for tarmack. Also the bad tracks have taken out their rights on christofers tyres which have had two flats during the day.

Today we got a tanzanian sim card. It took us about 3 hours to buy it and after several redirects to different call centers we managed to get internet working - even in the bush! This is where we will sleep tonight. It is about 10km east from a town called Igurub. We are not complaining :)

After three days on the road we have made it 200 km into masai land. We have slept at a tivoli, in a masai villiage, and tonight we are camping at a school yard. Today we cycled next to giraffes, zebras, gazelles, ostriches and lorrys that was spraying sand in our eyes. Life is great! Love christofer and jonas

After a day of assembling our bikes and walking around in the extremely poor and polluted city of Nairobi it's good to come back to the hostel, open a beer, make some porridge and study the map. Tomorrow we head south towards the village Isinya on road A104. The plan now is to visit an orphanage in Mwika in Tanzania, and we hope to be there by Wednesday! //Christofer & Jonas

A short update from restless bikers Ireland/Scotland division (Christian Erickson, Björn Lindgren and Albin Lyckestam). After two days in Dublin experiencing the culture (Guinness), we are ready to hit the road north. Our destination for the next couple of days is the city of Larne, where we take the ferry over to Scotland.

Yesterday we had some problems when a drunk little Irishman tried to steal one of our bikes. We were watching the bikes from the window of our hostel when it happened so after a short confrontation the guy walked away. No harm done!

Stay tuned for more updates from the trip. First whisky stop will be port Ellen on the isle of Islay where Laphroig, Ardbeg and Lagavulin will be tasted.
