Silba Siida
Happy Friday everyone!
Today Jokkmokk has a touch of what Swedes call "April weather". This means the weather changes fast throughout the day, from sunny to rainy to snowy and back again. I woke up this morning really excited to tell you guys about a summer activity in Jokkmokk. Then I got to work and the snow is pouring down. I still feel like we need to focus on the summer ahead and what Jokkmokk has to offer.
This is Anna from Silba Siida, this summer she is offering to be your personal Sámi guide around Jokkmokk! You can also cook dinner with Anna in the Lávvu (the tent in the video) while she tells you about the Sámi culture. Silba Siida is owned by a young indigenous Sámi couple, Anna and Erik, who still live the traditional native lifestyle. If you want a unique Sámi adventure this summer, contact Anna at http://silba.se/

Trycksvarvning, Jokkmokks Tenn
Jokkmokks Tenn's guided tours is well worth the time. Such amazing things they produce and techniques they master! Here they display the technique "trycksvarvning" which is really rare to master amongst craftsmen.

Cosy or what!
About one week ago, we walked out from our office into the forrest to have our "fika"; nine o clock coffeebreak.
Hot chocolate, sandwiches and cinnamon rolls, sitting on a reindeerskin on a stone. It's the simple things that makes the everydaylife extra luxurious.
What's your favourite "fika" to bring outside? Do you have a favourite place for your picnics?

Radio Active Jokkmokk
It was a bit windy during the "Radio Active" event in Jokkmokk today. But it did not keep the children or the grown ups from showing up to walk around the lake Talvatis this morning.

And so they are off on their 200 km long journey.
