Today, February 20, 2025, a significant event took place - for the first time since January 2020, Western tourists were able to step onto the territory of North Korea. For now, this territory is limited to the Rason Free Economic Zone, but we hope that soon Pyongyang will also open to foreign tourists.
This morning, several of our individual European tourists crossed the border from China into Rason. From March 6 to 10, we will have a group tour to Rason. It will be a medium-sized international group with tourists from Sweden, France, Italy, the UK, etc. Applications are accepted until February 25, 2025. A North Korean visa is not required to enter Rason.

LATEST UPDATE ON VISITING THE RASON ZONE IN THE DPRK
It turns out that the border has only opened from the Korean side so far. The checkpoint on the Chinese side in Quanhe is still not operational and is awaiting permission from the Chinese government. We hope that this permission will be granted in the coming days. Until then, entry to Rason is only possible by train from Russia through the Khasan/Tumangang border (see enclosed video from 2018). The train runs weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. As soon as there is an update on the opening of entry to Rason from the Chinese side, it will be published here and on our website.
