Just received a scam call.
The caller sounded like a local.
He said I have signed up a union card with shoppee(red flag!!!! I don’t buy anything online)
So I pretend to see how the game was played.
Caller : our system shows that you have sign up for the card and ami want ask if want to continue the subscription or to cancel as the first month is free but subsequent subscription is $800 per month.
Me: huh? What? I never sign anything like that! Ya ya I want to cancel.
Caller: ok, so you want to cancel. Please hold on the line I will direct you to the card cancellation department.
Me: ok
Call on hold music

I thought I would get a mandarin speaking scammer , but NO!
The next person speaks English like a Singaporean with a Hokkien ascent!

Caller: hello , cancel department, what you want? ( red flag, where got bank staff talk like this one, Ai DOI?!!!)

Me : Yaya cancel!
Caller : Is it you pressed wrongly the button?

Me: yes yes!

Caller : ok , don’t worry I teach you how to cancel.
What phone you use?

Me: iPhone

Caller : you go to your WhatsApp now .
On the top left you see a plus sign?

Me : Yaya

Caller: add this number

Me: I did (, it reflect a union pay sign but I did not press add).

Caller : ok press add!

But I did not press add, if I do He will have access to my phone and he will be able to manipulate my data in my phone.

So I pretend I need to verify his identity, I ask where his office is locate
I ask him where is the capital of Switzerland.
Who is the president of Singapore ?
Etc etc
Until he scold me in Hokkien
HahahahahhahahH
I laugh and cut off his phone

Finally, I led a tour where I am the eldest in the group! Everybody addressed me as “Uncle Ricky”!
I accepted this title and led to explore the Switzerland that I loved!
I loved this selfie of myself!
I looked matured, relaxed and a sense of achievement.
2024 let me realised that there are new avenue that inspires me to become a better person.
I look forward to 2025, to fulfill all the desires and dreams of mine.
2025, I am ready for the challenge!
Give me 1 year to be a better me by 2026!
