You don't always hear the words 'amazing' and 'weather' when it comes to describing Singapore 🤣

The sweater and winter jacket phenomen you see on the streets could also be due to monsoon surges that bring rain to Singapore. If Singapore was a bathtub, there could be many different types that bring rain besides the monsoons. A major one that we are on watch for now is the La Nina climate phenomenon which brings wetter and cooler conditions to the region.

Spotted this pair of Rose-ringed Parakeets in the wild, chattering excitedly during my morning walk.

These parrots used to be a common sight in some Singapore neighborhoods, live in small cages and come with their parrot astrologer masters. For as little as $5, this amiable bird with the said intelligence of a 4 year old child walks out to pick out a card from a deck of tarot cards and answers a question that the customer might have - anything from marriage and romantic prospects, a loved one suffering from illness, career to business decisions and auspicious dates.

I've heard of the few remaining fortune tellers who still plyed the trade located near one of Hindu temples in Little India and along Waterloo street but I've not had the fortune of meeting them.

Singapore is the 5th safest place in the world but low crime doesn't mean no crime.

I've always reminded my guests to keep their valuables close in bazaars, markets, festivals, and watch their drinks at bars and nightspots, and practice caution when out late at night (especially the young travellers).

Also, if you are on cycling tours (which are alot of fun), please pay attention, listen to your guide, be safe and stay on track as you might find yourself on sections of kerbs or roads.

Singaporean drivers pay an awful lot of money for a certificate of entitlement to drive their cars and they will not hesitate to let you know of their displeasure if you. cut in front of them (dangerous). 🤪

My friend rightly pointed out, "Look, our Minister, Mr Ong Ye Kung is advocating for our profession."

When we talk to our clients, we'd always ask what is important to you? What is it that you want to be able to do in the immediate future and long term.

Clients don't only tell us they want to deadlift X kg, clients tell us they want to travel and be able to lift their lugagge off the conveyor belt, carry groceries independently, they want to carry their children/grand children safely so that is how an OT and client set goals together.

The functional goal is to carry travel bags, groceries, children etc safely, the process involved is to work on proper body mechanics that will not aggravate post op injury/ injury conservatively managed, we work on building balance, strength, endurance in the movements and motions you need to do..

Disrespectful tourists galore🤦‍♀️ Singapore's public artworks are collectively worth in the Billions, including this one by Yang Ying Feng called "Progress and Advancement," highlighting Singapore's growth from a bustling trading hub in the 17th century to our position as a financial hub today. Alot of money, time and effort goes into maintaining the public sculptures so please do not climb on them (at least for the love of common sense and safety) and out of respect to the gentlemen who help maintain our sculptures. What do guides eat on their days off? We traipse through neighborhoods and hawkers to find elusive bakeries like this one (even though friends who live in Serangoon insist that this bakery has been in existance since the 1970s and is an institution in its own right) The smell of baked buns fresh out of rhe oven, with a cup of hot steamy black coffee.
