International Tourist Guides Day (ITGD) has been celebrated ever since, past venues being Esplanade Park, Sentosa, Singapore Botanic Gardens and National Museum of Singapore. At the 2016 event held at National Gallery Singapore, some 1000 members of the public and tourists enjoyed free heritage tours conducted by volunteer guides.
