The Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office - Singapore (STATOS) proudly announces the successful organization of the 'Singapore-Sarawak Travel Connect 2024' networking lunch, held on July 10, 2024, at the River Palace Cantonese Restaurant in the Riverside Majestic Hotel Puteri Wing.
This event was held in conjunction with STATOS's 5th anniversary this year and the 'Singapore-Sarawak Travel Connect Familiarization Trip 2024,' spanning 7 days and 6 nights across key destinations in Sarawak,
including Kuching, Miri, and Mulu.
The 'Singapore-Sarawak Travel Connect 2024' networking lunch served as a cornerstone
event, celebrating both STATOS's milestone anniversary and the continued partnership
between Singapore and Sarawak in promoting tourism.
The event brought together 15 participants from existing and new travel agencies specializing in Sarawak destinations, along with representatives from prestigious Singaporean universities such as Singapore University of Social Sciences and James Cook University. Industry leaders, and tourism professionals from both regions also joined in, demonstrating their commitment to fostering tourism growth and collaboration.
The networking lunch commenced with a warm welcome and commemorative remarks by Mr
Chew Chang Guan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of STATOS, highlighting the office's achievements over the past five years and its dedication to promoting Sarawak as a premier tourism destination.
"We are delighted to celebrate STATOS's 5th anniversary with the successful organization of
the 'Singapore-Sarawak Travel Connect 2024' networking lunch," said Chew Chang Guan.
"This event not only marks a significant milestone for our office but also reinforces our commitment to strengthening ties between Singapore and Sarawak through impactful tourism collaborations."
Following the networking lunch, participants from Singapore embarked on the 'Singapore-
Sarawak Travel Connect Familiarization Trip 2024,' which provided firsthand experiences of Sarawak's natural beauty, cultural heritage, and adventure tourism opportunities.
The itinerary included visits to tourism icons such as Sarawak Cultural Village, Borneo Cultures Museum, the vibrant cityscape of Miri, and the magnificent caves of Mulu National Park. These experiences aimed to familiarize participants with Sarawak's tourism products and inspire them to promote the destination effectively in Singapore.
"We are excited to showcase Sarawak's unique attractions and hospitality to our esteemed guests from Singapore," said Mdm Putrie Rozana Soraya, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of STATOS. "The 'Singapore-Sarawak Travel Connect Familiarization Trip 2024' not only educates our partners about Sarawak's tourism potential but also strengthens our
collaborative efforts in driving sustainable tourism growth."
