to last Saturday’s private LGBTQ+ tour for these lovely bunch whom finally had the chance to explore the sights and sounds of Singapore through a different perspective.

It is always nice to be able to bring smaller groups around, as it allows for a higher level of communication and intimacy.

Glad to be able to bring them around and grateful that they stayed throughtout despite unbearable conditions. Thank you for joining my tour!

I am still shocked and surprised to be featured at a presentation by Trip School last week at Singapore Tourism Board’s Travel Agents and Tourist Guides Industry Forum 2024.

Sadly, industry players were not able to see my epic expression, as I had other work commitments, but I am truly honoured by the kind words and the feature.

Snippets of my “Of Communities and Spaces” LGBTQ+ Tour 2 days ago!

The questionable weather did not stop these curious souls from all walks of life from coming down to find out more about the history of Singapore and how it relates to the LGBTQ+ community.

It was definitely a pleasure guiding my biggest tour to date!

Started off Pride Month last Saturday with my LGBTQ+ Tour for these guests! It was really pleasant to bring both locals and foreigners out for a little walk around little spaces that may (or may not) seem to have q***r history but actually does!

So grateful to be able to host different people from diverse backgrounds and to even have a guest who signed up for my tour to start off her first time in Singapore!

Thank you for coming and it was truly an honour to host you guys for 3 hours!

Last Saturday, I managed to conduct a private LGBTQ+ tour and managed to show my guests the importance of awareness of not just the LGBTQ+ communities but other communities, including minorities and other marginalised ppl, whether locally or overseas.

Drawing the connection and making that relation can prove to be a little challenging at times but it is worth the effort, and I do feel fulfilled in the end. In the end, we are not equal unless we are equal.

Despite the heat trying to make things unbearable, my group still managed to survive 3 hours of my tour!

It was really great to see allies among the group on this tour and their keen interest in LGBTQ+ spaces and the history that comes with it. I am definitely happy to share my side of the story and I am grateful for ppl coming to hear me speak for 3 hours straight!

Last Saturday was REALLY hot!

But it was generally a good weather to walk around! I brought William to show him a little bit of Singapore, and the little interesting things that make my childhood more interesting, just before he heads off to Bangkok for work.

This customised tour included ending off at Sungei Road Laksa, one of my favourite food in Singapore.

The extreme heat last Saturday didn’t deter these lovely folks for coming down for my LGBTQ+ tour.

From the narrow corridors of the shophouses, to the hilly parts of Ann Siang Hill and Club St, from the peace of Hong Lim Park, to the crowds in Chinatown, my guests were taken through a history of Singapore and local LGBTQ+ nuances through the different sights and sounds of the area.

With a good amount of engagement and excitement, the rather international group seem to be having fun sharing different thoughts and experiences despite Mother Nature being rather aggressive in the heat department.

I am glad to be able to share this part of Singapore with them.

to Saturday’s private tour for Andi, who has been to Singapore several times but not to Beach Road and Jalan Besar.

I am pleased to be able to take him on a journey through my childhood and show him a little of this [partially] untouched area of Singapore, where life is still kinda taken a little backseat at times and where preservation is questionable at times.

On the last day of the Lunar New Year, I brought a small group to discover a little more about LGBTQ+ history and how it relates to Singapore history.

What was pleasant was the questions that came in that got me thinking more and the closeness of the group that create a nice initimate unity.

We also happened to pass by celebrations, signifying the last day (15th Day / Chap Go Meh) of Chinese New Year.

Overall it was a pleasant tour and I’m happy that the group enjoyed themselves, sharing experiences and ideas along the way.

Started off the year with a pleasant city tour for Abdullah, hailing all the way from Palestine, last Saturday.

It was a great learning experience, exchanging the nuances of our cultures and thoughts on the current situation, while telling him facts about this island city-state, since it was actually his first time here.

It was also enduring to know that he used to be a tour guide himself on his campus and him attending my tour was clear reminiscence of his past.

Grateful to be able to show my island to Abdullah, who was clearly very keen in Asia! Thank you for coming on board my tour and thank you Matt for assisting with the logistics!

A specially curated private tour yesterday for Ian from the Philippines, who incidentally also celebrated the end of the year in Singapore last year! It turned out to have a little bit more of a surprise, as he wanted to try the cable car, which was slightly different from my usual walking tours.

It was not the best of weathers, but we make do with what we have and I was glad to have brought him to explore a little of Mount Faber and Sentosa via cable car.

Thank you Matt for the coordination and I hope both of you enjoyed the tour!

Just a little private tour of LGBTQ+ (and Singapore) history for Linda, who is actually here for a powerlifting competition in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and will be in the region for a short while and Hud, a local friend of ours.

Really nice to not only be able to walk around in quite comfortable weather (no rain and a little cooler at times), but also be able to share a little about parts of Singapore that not everyone knows.

Really happy to be able to share my experiences during this tour too!

It was a city tour with the Balmeleros last Saturday! Despite the rather iffy weather, which included several degrees of drizzles, it was still a lovely time and I was glad to be able to assist them with their rather introspective questions and love for [Instagrammable] photography spots.

Hope they enjoyed this cosy and Not-So-Regular city tour and their short stay in Singapore!

2nd LGBTQ+ tour was conducted a few days ago. We did a late afternoon-to-evening tour instead and I guess it was more convenient to end the evening entering the nightlife instead of in the bright afternoon.

Smaller but cosy group and glad to have these guests on board with me on this interesting journey of the history of Singapore and LGBTQ+ in Singapore!
