The Academy of Taiwan Strings (ATS) was named one of Taiwan’s Top Performing Arts Groups by the Ministry of Culture in 2001 and has retained this honour until today. It had also been invited to perform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ National Day celebration. The ATS, Taiwan’s longest-running conductor-less orchestra that has received government recognition and support, will make its debut in Singapore’s Victoria Concert Hall on August 27 at 2 p.m., where they will premiere a new composition by renowned Singaporean composer Tan Chan Boon.

The 3rd Singapore Chinese Music Festival 2023 organized by the Singapore Chinese Music Federation 新加坡华乐总会 will take place from 20 Aug - 10 Sep with 18 concerts, 13 talks, 2 book launches, youth music camp, exhibition, etc.

🎺 For the past two years, the pandemic has disrupted wind band activities in Singapore and Asia in particular. Hence, it is important for us to lead the resumption of wind band development while providing the opportunity for all to make music in a safe way.

In addition to the Band category, the newly curated Ensemble category at SIBF 2022 aims to allow musicians to collaborate, share ideas and strive for excellence together. Each musician’s voice in the ensemble is equally important as no doubling is required and both musical and social skills are encouraged in this setting. Musicians may perform works from classical to contemporary works written for ensembles. This platform provides an invaluable platform for musicians to explore the artistry of chamber music and showcase their talents in a more intimate setting!

The 8th SIBF will take place from 26 to 31 July 2022 with the following programmes:

• Competition for Wind Bands
• Competition for Ensembles
• Workshops with Adjudicators
• Winners’ Concert & Award Ceremony at Esplanade Concert Hall

The 2nd Singapore Chinese Music Festival 2021 will open on 3 September, 7.30pm at the SCO Concert Hall. The festival consists of 18 concerts and 22 talks featuring multi-genre concerts by student, amateur and professional musicians and guest speakers from Asia.

After months of preparation, we are finally here counting down to the LIVE event at the NAFA Lee Foundation Theatre & Multi-Purpose Theatre coming 13 July 2021, 10am.
