First women on Mont Blanc 👩

The first time a woman stood on the summit of Mont Blanc was on 14 July 1808. It was Marie Paradis, a 30-year-old resident of Chamonix. However, relations say that she found the climb so difficult that she was practically carried to the top by her companions. Therefore, talking about women conquering Mont Blanc, it is also worth mentioning Henriette d'Angeville, who descended Mont Blanc with her own strength on 4 September 1838.

What is the story behind the ascent of Mont Blanc? 🧐

In 1760 the Swiss naturalist from Geneva, Horace Benedict de Saussure, visited the town of Chamonix 🏡 The scientist saw Mont Blanc for the first time, and the mountain touched him enormously. He decided that Mont Blanc should be conquered 💪 To motivate volunteers, he set a monetary reward for the daredevils who would reach the summit. Many people set out for the mountains, but the summit wasn't reached until 8 August 1786. The pioneers climbing the Mont Blanc are Jacques Balmat and Michel Paccard 😁
