What started as a friendly session in Bali a few years ago ( ) somehow led to me finishing 2nd in this year’s Czech & Slovak “World Tour” surfing competition. I’ve never been a fan of sport competitions, but it’s different when you know most of the line-up—friends like and , or rivals like 😈, each with their own unique personality and quirks.

Meeting you all in new destinations, watching live streams with ’s witty commentary, and seeing our surfing skills and the entire ecosystem grow over time is truly a pleasure.

Remember, the final goal is our community—let’s never lose sight of that! 🏄🏼‍♂️🏄🏼🏄🏻‍♀️

Living in a surfvan was my dream for some time. Funilly enough, events have magically intertwined to “find me a van” and allow me to live on the road for few months. I didn’t do anything, “it just happened”. No no. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of the mind. Keep your dreams in mind.

A trip to South Africa is a reminder about scarcity of water and energy. End-of-the-World signs make you feel like in a dystopian zombie movie but they are real. Day Zero is not a hypotetical religion-related dooms-day. It is the day when a city water reserves reach 0. And then what? It’s easy to foresee violence and war.
With the recent draught worldwide, this problem is not just South African.

AfrikaBurn? I realized that the Burn is not a festival but an utopic, community-organized social experiment revolving around art, freedom and altered states of mind.
What marked me the most is the ideal society it brings together: a world genuinelly full of smiles, kindness, ingenuity, selflessness, gifting and shareness. A world far away from our everyday’s individualist lifestyle.
I particularly enjoyed meeting older participants (most of them successful and young-looking) coming back every year but not being able to talk about it in the default world, in fear of being judged and rejected.
