: Madut Nyuol, also known as Jana Los, has been selected to represent South Sudan in a 34-man provisional squad for two upcoming matches against Congo Brazzaville and South Africa in the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Qualifiers.

The young and talented goalkeeper plays for Black Eagle FC in the second division and has received his first call-up for the national team, Bright Stars. Apart from his club commitments, Nyuol has also showcased his skills in various local tournaments such as the Twic Mayardit Peace Tournament, Warrap State Peace Tournament, and Bahr El Ghazal Counties League in Juba.

Flood struck most of the homes in Tuele Boma of Twic County, leaving many families displaced and in need of immediate assistance. The heavy rains have caused significant damage to infrastructure, houses including roads, and water sources.

The Communities are coming together to provide support to those affected. Neighbors are helping each other to clean up and salvage what they can from their homes. Coordinating efforts to distribute relief supplies, including food, water, and basic necessities will be appreciated.

The road connecting Wunrok - Turalei in Twic County, Warrap State has been cut off due to floods, which poses a risk of disrupting trade and transportation not only in Twic County but also in neighbouring counties such as Ruweng Administrative Area, Abyei Administrative Area, and Unity State. This important road link serves as a crucial connection between Warrap and these neighbouring areas, and its disruption could have significant economic and social consequences.

Upon examining the images from Twic County, it is clear that the flooding is catastrophic, with normally elevated areas now underwater. While the county's low-lying terrain makes it prone to annual flooding, this event's severity is notable. Based on the visual evidence, I urge community leaders and officials to coordinate a response, engaging local youth in relief efforts, such as relocating affected populations to safer, higher ground. A unified community response is vital in addressing the consequences of this severe flooding.

As we commemorate late Manute Bol’s birthday, here are six things you probably don't know about the late NBA legend Manute Bol.

1. He originated the saying "my bad" after Michael Jordan dunked over him.

2. Twice the Bashir regime sent planes to bomb Manute when he was visiting refugee camps.

3. He saved the lives of thousands of Lost Boys and Girls who the regime had cut off and was trying to starve.

4. Manute lost over 240 family members in the war with the North.

5. Manute set a bold example of reconciliation by tirelessly demonstrating against the killing of Darfurians.

6. Manute sacrificed his life for his country's independence, postponing medical treatment to fight the Bashir regime's election meddling in south Sudan.

This was prior to her highly anticipated free-entry show held at Kuajok Freedom Square later that day.
