Support and Call to Rally Behind VP, H. E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, VP & Chair of Economic Cluster, RSS

By: Abraham Majak Makur

As a member of the historic SPLA Red Army, I am writing to express my heartfelt unwavering support for the newly appointed Cde. H. E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel as Vice President and Chair of the Economic Cluster of the Republic of South Sudan. This appointment comes at a critical and crucial time as we strive for unity, peace, and development within our beloved nation.

H. E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to serving our people. His leadership will be vital in addressing the pressing challenges we face, including economic recovery, reforms, social cohesion, and the establishment of lasting peace in our country.

As Dr. Bol is an SPLA Red Army: it is unquestionable as one of the young people who participated in the war of liberation. He had been nurtured, militarily oriented, educated and politically indoctrinated by the SPLM/A Leadership to be reflective of our social, economical and political aspirations we fought for.

On a personal note, I would love to advise my comrade, Dr. Bol Mel to be determined and be mindful of our revolutionary virtues. When Dr. John Garang referred to us as "seeds of the nation," he was meaning exactly today. Today has come and we are right in it now.

Furthermore, Dr. Benjamin Bol, as the nation yearns for unity for a common purpose, be strategically accessible to those who would contribute effectively towards our nation's building while instilling the spirit of nationalism and patriotism in the minds of the contemporary generations of our loved country.

I encourage everyone to rally behind our comrade and friend, new VP as to embark on this important journey. Together we can work towards a brighter future for South Sudan, fostering an environment where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.

Let us stand united in support and work collaboratively to build a strong and prosperous nation.

May I ask Almighty God to give you peace of mind, wisdom and guidance to set the precedent for the future of this country.

God bless South Sudan!

MABRUKAT TO H.E. DR. BENJAMIN BOL MEL – THE NATION IS WATCHING

Fellow Junubeen,

The appointment of our brother, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, has dominated national discourse in recent days, taking many by surprise. Some are shocked and disappointed, while others celebrate. Regardless of personal views, the reality remains - Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel is now H.E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel.,

Let us not personalize politics. As citizens, we have the right to criticize our government and hold it accountable. However, we must avoid irresponsible rhetoric that fuels division. H.E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel now holds a constitutional office. Even if one does not respect the man, they should respect the institution he represents.

His status has changed!

To those beating the drums of war over H.E. President Salva Kiir’s unilateral decision - our country cannot afford to lose another generation to senseless conflicts over political appointments. If these decisions bring real change, then our civil population will be the true beneficiaries.

Compatriots

A war economy will not serve our citizens. We must reject propaganda from those who seek to manipulate our frustrations for their own gain. These so-called reformists have used the same tactics before - only to abandon their movements at the last moment, urging us to "Give Peace a Chance." The children of South Sudan should not be sacrificed time and again for the vested interests of the traditional elite.

Whether you support or oppose this appointment, let us extend our goodwill and give H.E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel a chance. His success will ultimately be South Sudan’s success.

I personally congratulate H.E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel and remind him of the immense responsibility he now bears. He has the opportunity to bring peace to our country and fulfill the promise of our liberation struggle.

The eyes of the nation are upon you, Comrade!

Mabrukat!
