Ugarit.
One of the oldest kingdoms which lies at the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
It goes back to the second millennium B.C.
What distinguishes Ugarit is the richness of the archaeological finds that were found on the site.
In the first place, the alphabet of Ugarit was the most important find in the site along with the first musical note.

What gave the society of Ugarit the importance is the effects of a well-planned city, buildings ,and the extent progress of science, industry and trade.

Ugarit was famous for its industry and was the center of wood production and sale, Textiles, and fabrics dyes that was extracted from seashells.

The Cathedral of the Lady of mourning in Damascus"The olive church"

The church was established 150 years ago. It lies on the side of the street called straight ; close to "The eastern gate of Damascus".

It was called "the olive church" because of the huge number of olive trees in its yard.

The church follows the Byzantine building style, which is basilica pattern.

The basaltic stone was widely used in the constructing of the church.

The church is the headquarters of Damascus for the Melkite - Greek Catholic Patriarchate.

The Roman Arch of Damascus "Tetrapylon"

It is located in the middle of the street called straight; it was buried under ground till 1945, the arch was excavated, and lifted to the current level of the street.
The purpose of building this arch was to hide the curvature of the straight street.

The Temple of Jupiter
One of the classical monuments that was built during the Roman era (from the first century B.C until the Fourth century A.D).
Jupiter temple was considered as one of the largest temples that was built during the Roman period in Syria.
At the beginning of the fourth century B.C, the temple was widened by the architect "Apollodorus of Damascus" and two sets of walls was used to separate the temple from the city.
The remains of the temple still exist at the western side of the Umayyad mosque.

Al-Nawfara ( Fountain) Café is a must see and visit Café,
It is one of the oldest cafés which used to attract the visitors and tourists due to its unique location in the bustling heart of Damascus Old City, just behind the great ( ).
To reach al-Nawfara Café you must pass through al Souq
Al-Nawfara Café is an amazing place to enjoy your time morning and evening and to take your coffee or tea in the middle of the marvelous area of old Damascus.
The Café preserved the old tradition of the storyteller (al Hakawati), so people gathering at night enjoying the traditional epic stories and folk tales.
The Café dating back to the nineteenth century AD.

Syria is bordered by the Mediterranean sea and Lebanon from the west,Turkey from North,Iraq from the East and Jordan from the South.
Syria witnessses the four seasons, the weather is mild and rainy at the coastal area during winter ,but cold in inner areas. In Summer it is sunny and hot in the inner areas ; on the coastal areas it shares the Mediterranean climate with other Mediterranean countries.
