During spring cleaning we came across this original poster from 1991. White-water rafting was founded by in 1991, when it operated under the umbrella of . In 1996 it rebranded itself as Swazi Trails and has been ticking over as a foundation stone of the Kingdom’s adventure tourism industry ever since. Darron was still out guiding trips this past week, 33 years later. Memories for him, evoked by this poster, included: a nod to Usutu Pulp Company for their CSR grant that facilitated this business startup (UPC, later became SAPPI, and now Montigny); similar thanks to ; appreciation to for lending us this raft, whilst we awaited our own rafts, and a wonder if Pieter de Ras, the celebrated SA photographer, who took this pic, is still around? Most of the people in this pic were models, who travelled to Eswatini for this shoot - if anyone recognizes them, please shout out to us!
