The Tiger Temple is located within a large forest monastery and aims to conserve Thailand's wonderful flora and fauna, as well as providing visitors with an up close and personal experience of the tigers themselves. This is one of the few places where you can touch and have your photo taken with these majestic creatures! Many other animals also roam the grounds, including wild birds, buffalo and deer.

Kanchanaburi World War II Cemetery
The Allied war cemetery in Kanchanaburi the graves of almost 7,000 Commonwealth and Dutch soldiers who died during the construction of the death railway. After the end of World War II, the cemetery at Don Rak became the final resting place for many of those who had been forced to endure the brutal conditions imposed by the Japanese army during the construction of the Thailand to Burma railway. Those who died were originally buried at makeshift grave-sites at various locations along the railway line. After the war ended, Don Rak cemetery was designed as a more fitting resting place and memorial to the fallen with the names, ages and regiments of the soldiers engraved on the headstones. Where the identity of the soldier is unknown a simple inscription reads, ‘A soldier who died for his country’.

This historic and in famous route follows a similar path to the Kwai Noi proceeding leisurely through stunning countryside in the west of province. Views of jungle-clad hills, beautiful lowland fields and of the river accompany you along the way, while the track itself crosses bridges and hugs steep cliff faces in its journey through the valley. The route is a moving reminder of both the awesome challenge faced by those who built the line and the spectacular surroundings in which it was construct.
