Indeed, Thai government announced its desire to re-open land borders with Malaysia to increase arrivals from its neighboor country. Before COVID-19 crisis, Malaysians were one of the largest group of tourists in Thailand.

But even if Thai government is willing to re-open as quickly as possible, Malaysia will not gain as much as Thailand will since there are more Malaysian tourists in Thailand than Thai visiting Malaysia> Then, it should be one of the hottest topics during Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob's visit in Thailand this week.

Indeed, with around 76% of the overall market and 1,236,476 units sold, Honda easily maintained its leadership position in 2021.
Now, the Japanese company expects a growth of 5% in 2022 with more than 1,300,000 units as a target, against a 2% growth for the overall market during the same period.

With the borders closed for more than 1 year and now all the local businesses forced to close, the economic situation has never been worse in Bangkok. Locals are losing their jobs, their mental health and are literally starving.



Ride in Asia is supporting a caritative association to assist the most needy in this sad period. Last week-end, we cooked food boxes to distribute and we will keep the good work going on a regular basis!
