What a great family camping trip we had together over last weekend in Khao Yai!!! Kids learned about the nature and basic camping and cooking skills... The nature trail behind the visitor center was an nice and easy walk with lots of things to see. Lots of deer (even in the camping ground) so the feeling of nature up close was great.

A big thanks to everyone who has participated in the EXO Trivia Contest! We have been super impressed with everyone's knowledge!

There are 7 people tied with 6 correct answers each. We will be reaching out to them shortly with a quiz to determine the final winner and look to make an announcement next Monday!

In the meantime, here are the answers to the questions:

Question 1 Food: Miang Kham - This dish is a favourite among many Thais. It is a combination of shallots, chili, ginger, garlic, lime, roasted coconut, peanuts or cashews and dried shrimp. Want to try it? Let us arrange a foodie tour for you!

Question 2 Architecture: Wat Sirindhorn Wararam in Ubon Ratchathani - Located near the Laos border, this spectacular temple is one of Thailand's most photogenic spots and a must-see for any local or visitor. Let us take you there on a weekend trip from Bangkok!

Question 3 Culture: Phi Ta Khon - Part of a merit-making holiday known as Bun Phawet, this festival takes place over 3 days between March and July. Attendees wear masks made from sheaths of palm leaves and bamboo sticky rice. Message us to check it out next year!

Question 4 Wildlife: Asian Koel- A member of the cuckoo family of birds, it is widespread throughout Southeast Asia. Join us on a birdwatching tour to learn about what other interesting birds are in Thailand!

Question 5 Art: Whispers of Love, Wat Phumin- Located in the heart of Nan, this iconic mural dates back more than 4 centuries and is considered a jewel of the northeast. See this and other northern highlights on a tour with us!

Question 6 History: Ligor or Tambralinga, currently Nakhon Si Thammarat- In 1765 the Burmese army invaded from the north and west of Thailand, conquering and subjugating areas on its path to Ayutthaya, which they captured the following year. Safely out of reach from Burmese invaders, Ligor declared itself as an independent state. In 1767, Ayutthaya was freed by General Thaksin who became the King of Siam, established Bangkok as the capital of his Thonburi Kingdom, and forced Ligor to rejoin Siam. Want to learn more? Question 7 Geography: Isthmus of Kra: The idea for building a canal across this narrow stretch of land in southern Thailand was first proposed by the successor of King Thaksin, King Rama 1 in 1793. Measuring just 102 kilometres wide at its narrowest point, a canal across the Isthmus of Kra would significantly reduce transport times to East Asia from Europe and be a huge economic and strategic advantage for Thailand. Despite this and ongoing plans, it has never been built. What's better than learning about Thai geography? Seeing it first hand! Head on a tour to Chumphon with us to check it out!

และตอนนี้ทุกๆ ท่านที่ได้ร่วมสนุก คงจะอยากทราบคำตอบของแต่ละคำถามแล้วใช่ไหมคะ คำตอบตามนี้เลยนะคะ ดูกันซิว่าใครตอบข้อไหนได้ถูกต้องบ้าง

คำถามที่ 1 หมวดอาหาร คำตอบคือ เมี่ยงคำ ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในอาหารจานโปรดของคนไทย มีส่วนประกอบดังนี้ หอมแดง พริก ขิง กระเทียม มะนาว มะพร้าว ถั่วลิสงหรือมะม่วงหิมพานต์ และกุ้งแห้ง...อยากจะมาลองชิมกันไหมคะ เราจัดทัวร์ให้คุณไปลองกันได้นะคะ

คำถามที่ 2 หมวดสถาปัตยกรรม คำตอบคือ วัดสิรินธรวรารามภูพร้าว จ.อุบลราชธานี วัดนี้ตั้งอยู่ในชายแดนไทย-ลาว เป็นวัดที่สวยงามและเป็นจุดถ่ายรูปจุดหนึ่งที่สวยมากของเมืองไทย เป็นวัดที่ไม่ควรพลาดเลย… ใครสนใจไปทัวร์วัดนี้กับเรา เราจัดทัวร์ให้ได้ด้วยนะคะ

คำถามที่ 3 หมวดวัฒนธรรม คำตอบคือ เทศกาลผีตาโขน ซึ่งเป็นเทศกาลงานบุญใหญ่งานหนึ่งที่รู้จักกันว่าเป็นงานบุญผะเหวด เทศกาลนี้จัดขึ้น 3 วันในช่วงเดือน 7 ผู้เข้าร่วมเทศกาลจะแต่งกายเป็นผี สวมหน้ากากผี ที่ทำจากส่วนของโคนมะพร้าวและหวดนึ่งข้าวเหนียว… มาร่วมเดินทางไปเทศกาลผีตาโขนปีหน้าด้วยกันได้ค่ะ

คำถามที่ 4 หมวดสัตว์ป่า คำตอบคือ นกกาเหว่า เป็นนกในตระกูลนกดุเหว่า มีอยู่ทั่วไปในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ใครสนใจอยากไปตามหานกกาเหว่ากับเราบ้าง มาจอยทริปดูนกในเมืองไทยกับเราได้นะคะ

คำถามที่ 5 หมวดงานศิลปะ คำตอบคือ กระซิบรักของปู่ม่านย่าม่าน ที่วัดภูมินทร์ จ. น่าน ภาพเขียนฝาผนังนี้นับว่าเป็นภาพเขียนเก่าแก่มากว่า 4 ศตวรรษ และมีเป็นงานศิลปะล้ำค่าชิ้นหนึ่งของภาคอีสาน มาร่วมเดินทางไปน่านกับเราได้นะคะ

คำถามที่ 6 หมวดประวัติศาสตร์ คำตอบคือ เมืองลิกอร์ ซึ่งปัจจุบันคือ จ. นครศรีธรรมราช ตามประวัติศาสตร์ ย้อนไปในปี 2308 กองทัพพม่ายกทัพมาทางเหนือและตะวันตกของเมืองไทย และเข้าตีและยึดครองพื้นทีหลายพื้นที่ที่เพื่อผ่านไปถึงกรุงศรีอยุธยา และในปีต่อมากรุงศรีอยุธยาก็ตกเป็นเมืองขึ้นของพม่า แต่ทว่าเมืองลิกอร์เป็นเมืองหนึ่งที่ไม่ได้ตกเป็นอาณานิคมของพม่า และในที่สุดก็ได้ประกาศตัวเองออกมาเป็นรัฐอิสระ ต่อมาในปี 2310 พระเจ้าตากสินมหาราชได้ปลดแอกกรุงศรีอยุธยาจากการเป็นอาณานิคมของพม่า และพระเจ้าตากสินได้กลายมาเป็นกษัตริย์ของสยาม และก่อตั้งบางกอกเป็นเมืองหลวงของกรุงธนบุรี และรวมเมืองลิกอร์ให้เข้ามาไปเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสยาม อยากรู้ประวัติศาสตร์กันเพิ่มไหม มาร่วมเดินทางย้อนประวัติศาสตร์ไปกับเราได้นะคะ

คำถามที่ 7 หมวดภูมิศาสตร์ คำตอบคือ คอคอดกระ ซึ่งเป็นแนวคิดในการขุดคลองส่วนที่แคบที่สุดของคาบสมุทรมลายูทางใต้ของเมืองไทย เป็นแนวคิดที่ริเริ่มมาหลังจากสมัยพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราชและรัชกาลที่ 1 ในปี 2336 ส่วนของคอคอดกระนี้ในจุดที่แคบที่สุดแค่ 102 กิโลเมตร และแนวคิดขุดคลองนี้เป็นแนวคิดที่ช่วยย่นระยะเวลาการเดินทางจากภูมิภาคยุโรปไปภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออก นอกจากนี้ยังนับว่าเป็นจุดยุทธศาสตร์การค้าที่สำคัญของเมืองไทยอีกด้วย อย่างไรก็ตาม แนวคิดนี้่เป็นเพียงแค่แนวคิดเท่านัั้น… แต่ถ้าคุณอยากเรียนรู้มากกว่านี้ ไปชุมพรกับเราสิคะ
