I'm not sure how they talked me in to it...but they did.
We were set to hike. Water bladders ready to go. I looked up at Mt. Ranier standing thousands of feet in the air. It was July and the trail, even though it started off clear, was soon covered in snow. Many times I knew I would fall and the hiking stick saved me. Many times I knew I would slip, and I did. The hike was mostly uphill in the snow but this wasn't my dad's walking to school story. This was real life. Hours later when I was safely in the trailhead parking lot I looked back at what I conquered. Almost 6 miles and an elevation gain of almost 2,000 feet! I stopped so much and thought about turning back. But I kept going.
