Phranakhon Rajabhat University now offers Thai Culture Certificate for foreigners wishing to teach in Thailand. Participants who attend the entire program and pass will obtain the Certificate in Thai Language, Culture and Professional Ethics for Teaching

TRAINING FEE
The number of participants is limited to only 30 (first-paid, first-registered basis). A fee amounting to 4,500 baht will be charged per participant. Kindly deposit the training fee to:

Thai Military Bank (TMB) savings account number 161-2-39777-6 (Language Center Thai Culture). Please fax or scan/email your bank receipt to us so we can immediately verify the deposit and put your name in the priority list. On the first day of the training, please submit the following documents:

1. Registration Form (to be available on that day)
2. A clear copy of the bank receipt
3. A clear copy of the first page of the Passport.
4. A clear copy of the first page of the Work Permit
5. A recommendation letter from the school.
5. A clear copy of the educational certificate or equivalent.
6. 3 pieces of passport-size colored photograph. APPLICANT’S QUALIFICATION
The participants must be at least 20 years of age and holding at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The participants must not possess any of the prohibited characteristics pursuant to section 44 (b) of the Teachers and Educational Personnel Council Act B.E. 2003 (2546).

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The B.E. 2546 Thai Teacher Association Act has mandated the teaching profession a restricted vocation. According to Clause 5 Section 2 of B.E. 2547's Teacher Council's regulation, any foreigner seeking to obtain a Thai teaching license is required to pass an examination and assessment procedure set by the Thai Teacher Council. The course on Thai Language, Culture and Professional Ethics is thereby arranged to fulfill this requirement as follows:

1. Thai Society (4 hours)
State of Thai society in the past and at present; social structures; way of life environments; and Thai wisdom.

2. Thai Language and Culture (6 hours)
Thai language in daily living; beliefs; values; characteristics of Thai people
dress code on various occasions; food; Thai sports and games; and Buddhist life styles.

3. Thai Manners (2 hours)
Manners on various occasions: Standing postures on formal and informal occasions; walking; sitting and how to rise from a seated position; how to do "Wais" to individuals of different social strata; and encountering, receiving from and handing articles to higher- ranking individuals.

4. Thai Arts and Music (2 hours)
Thai arts from various regions of Thailand; values and beauty; uniqueness of Thai arts in each region; characteristics and features of Thai musical instruments; Thai dramatic arts; Thai literature; Thai sports and games.

5. Professional Ethics (6 hours)
Professional standards and ethics; central focuses in The B.E. 25 Association and Educational Personnel Act; the significance of professional ethics; personal behaviors; professional ethics; ethical standards towards service recipients; ethical standards towards colleagues; and social ethics. 6. Case studies/ Study visit


ASSESSMENT
Participants will be evaluated by testing 20% and practical training 80%. Participants are required to pass not less than 60% of the over-all requirements.
