Bulla Regia is one of Tunisia's most important Roman places/locations and makes an excellent day trip from Tabarka. The site contains the remains of baths, water containers, temples, a theater, a forum and a series of 3rd- and 4th-century attractive villas. Most of the very old villa rooms are buried underground, a (like nothing else in the world) method of construction that gave the residents with protection from the summer heat. Due to this underground (related to the beautiful design and construction of buildings, etc.), the floor (decorations made of many colored pieces of glass, stone, etc.) of Bulla Regia have been very well preserved. Many of the best (decorations made of many colored pieces of glass, stone, etc.) have been taken to the Bardo Museum in Tunis, but some are still (in the original position).
Location: 65 kilometers south of Tabarka
