Hidden under the olive and fig trees, Sirince is a “cute” village, as its name suggests (‘sirin’ means cute in Turkish) with its stone houses lying on two slopes, its fruitful vineyards, and its homemade delicious wines.
Sirince is well worth visiting; it is an old Greek settlement that has protected its traditional architecture until today and is undoubtedly the most beautiful village in the Aegean region.
EPHESUS TERRACE HOUSES
Archaeologists have been excavating 7 houses owned by the richest Ephesians. These were high ranking officers, governors and rich tradesmen. The size of the homes are starting from 1000 square feet and the largest one was 6000 square feet. They date back to the 1st century AD and inhabited until 3rd century AD. The houses were destroyed and abandoned by a major earthquake and tsunami in 262AD.

The healing thermal water that provided Pamukkale to be a residential area for thousands of years, is also a spring of famous white travertines. It is known that the thermal springs in Karahayıt and Gölemezli which are close to the Pamukkale, are good for rheumatism, heart diseases, stomach, arteriosclerosis, blood pressure and skin diseases. The Thermal Pool in Pamukkale, provides facilities for the visitors to entertain, with its 35 ˚ fixed temperature water.
The antique city Hierapolis and Pamukkale which are in the same place is 20 km from the city centre. Hierapolis, which was founded in B.C. 197, takes attention because one of Jesus’ apostles were killed here. And so Hierapolis is very important for the regions tourism. The historical artefacts which has been found in excavations are displayed in Hierapolis Archaeology Museum The term travertine comes from Roman times, in reference to the great travertine sediments of Tivoli in Italy. The travertines are stone which result from complicated chemical reactions that have many causes, many facets and they are largely dependent upon the surroundings. The geological phenomena which compose Pamukkale Thermal Springs, affect a wide area. In this area, there are 17 hot water springs in which the temperature change between 35 and 100 degrees.
