CEBU PACIFIC CHECKED BAGGAGE POLICY EXPLAINED

1. Each passenger is allowed to purchase a MAXIMUM of 3 checked baggage, with a MAXIMUM weight of 32 kilos each for a total of 96 kilos.

- In Cebu Pacific, you can purchase a baggage in increments of 20kg, 24kg, 28 kg and 32 kg.

2. The maximum weight of each baggage should not exceed 32 kg.

- This rule is important in case more than one baggage is purchased. Since baggage pooling is allowed, the weight of each baggage need not be the same, but the maximum weight of any of the baggage should be 32kg.

3. Baggage pooling rules are applied when a passenger purchases multiple baggage.

- In Cebu Pacific, baggage pooling is allowed, provided passengers are travelling together, checking in at the same time on the same flight number.

To illustrate these rules, here are some examples :

1. If you purchased 1 baggage with 20 kg weight, you cannot bring 2 baggages with 10kg weight each.

4. If you purchased 2 baggages with 20 kg weight each baggage, for a total of 40kg, one baggage can weigh 32 kilos, while the other baggage, can weigh 8 kilos. That is allowed as long as the total weight of both does not exceed 40 kilos. This is called baggage pooling. But take note, any of the 2 baggage cannot weigh more than 32 kg. This means if you purchased 2 baggages with a total of 40 kg weight, the first baggage cannot weigh 34 kg, and the other baggage 6kg.

To summarize: The total number of baggage and the total weight you purchased will be the limit of what you can check-in. But no baggage should exceed 32 kg.

My tip: If you're at the check-in counter already and the airline is charging you excess baggage, see if it's 2 hours before your flight. You can still purchase baggage online up to 2 hours before your flight and save money, instead of paying at the check in counter.
