When Folklore Meets Folklore

Some believe the folklore characters of Trinidad and Tobago are just scary creatures brought to life in bedtime stories.

But what if they're wrong? What if these creatures are as real as you and me?

In the prequel novella, Mystery at Main Ridge, Canadian twins Amber and Alyssa experienced a little of that unknown and fantastic world with its humble and benevolent leader Papa Bois.

Though brief, their adventure with the folklore beings may have had far-reaching consequences. It's all eerily similar to a long-forgotten bedtime story known as The Ark of Mua, once told to Papa by his father.

Something is definitely in the air. Something terrible is coming; an evil like no other that threatens everything good in the universe.

It will begin at the Pitch Lake in Trinidad. The end of days.

No one fully comprehends how real the threat may be, with the story being the oldest and littlest known legend in Papa's mysterious world.

Only Amber and Alyssa, joining forces with Papa and his unassuming band of superheroes, have a chance to stop the ancient enemy and preventing a ghastly event.

One thing is for sure... in this bedtime story, there WILL be scary creatures.

And so begins The Gateway Moon, volume one of The Chronicles of Kairi. Part drama, horror, romance, action adventure, sci fi, crime and historical fiction, and definitely fantasy, it is a new take on Caribbean folklore.

This is not your average fairytale.
