Zum Zum Cottage • Tobago acquired its catchy, quirky name from the Arawak word for hummingbird. This fascinating, intelligent bird beats its wings rapidly, making a zum-zum or humming sound.

Known as “feathered jewels”, hummingbirds are best defined by their diminutive size and brilliant, iridescent colours. Their narrow, light reflective wings, long slender bills and extended tubular tongues for drinking nectar are all part of their intriguing splendor and mystical reputation.

Part of the Zum Zum Cottage charm is that it’s a haven for these bold and busy visitors, who will be happy to share their garden territory with you! And, if they are comfortable, the cautious Mot Mot, Squirrel & Iguana might also be spotted, as they feast safely in the trees.
