Take note if you’re visiting campus.

Members of the public and campus community, please be advised that from Monday 5th September 2022, The University of the West Indies (The UWI), St. Augustine Campus will be reinforcing its No Thoroughfare Policy. This means that, from Monday to Friday, only authorised vehicles (those displaying valid UWI Vehicle Permits) are allowed to enter the campus via the North and South Gates. Unauthorised vehicles (those without valid UWI Vehicle Permits) will be directed to the Visitors’ Entrance at the Daaga Gate (East of the campus, obliquely opposite the Freedom Hall), where persons will be subject to more rigorous security screening before being allowed to proceed onto the Campus.

It is important to note that:

Only vehicles displaying valid UWI Permits for the 2021/2022 (allowed only until September 30, 2022) and the 2022/2023 academic years will be granted vehicular access to the campus through the Administration and South Gates. Students and staff are reminded to acquire new passes for the academic year

Vehicles, which do not display the requisite Permits, will be classified as “unauthorised” and will be required to use the Visitors’ Gate, accessible along St. Augustine Circular Road (East of the campus, obliquely opposite the Freedom Hall).This will also apply to all visitors, suppliers and other members of the general public doing business on the campus, whose vehicles do not display valid permits.
