Trinidad's cassava pone is an indigenous snack/dessert made with cassava, coconut, pumpkin, sugar, and various spices.

It's very tasty. It has a texture similar to bread pudding.

I'm very happy to live in a country where "real food" is the absolute norm!

Any of our guests will tell you that doubles (a Trinidadian street food made up of fried bread, chickpeas and various sauces) is one of the best things they've ever eaten!

️⚠️ WARNING! If you don't like cilantro in your food, then you certainly won't like saw tooth coriander (aka culantro, recao, and Mexican coriander).

In Trinidad and Tobago, this very popular herb is known as chadon beni (shadow benny) or bandhania (ban dahnyah) and it's used in almost everything we eat. It's even made into a sauce.

While I'm not trying to discourage you from eating Trini food, I'm just letting you know so that you're be prepared. Just so you know, it adds great flavour to our delicious foods.
