🚨TRAVEL UPDATE🚨

The Entry/Exit System (EES) new biometric border system has been delayed! Passport stamps stay for now! ✅🛂

Ahead of its original November 2024 launch, countries like Germany, France and the Netherlands have reported that their system are not ready yet. The EU says they’ll take a “phased approach” with no new date on when that will take place.

This system will eventually require non-EU travellers, including Caribbean travellers to register their fingerprint and facial scan instead of a usual passport stamps at EU borders.

Japan is known for its fast and efficient train networks. On our last day in Japan, we took the Bullet Train from Osaka to Tokyo. The experience was remarkable, offering stunning views of the countryside as we traveled at incredible speeds. The train was comfortable, and the service was exceptional, making our journey memorable.

🚨TRAVEL UPDATE🚨

The government is upgrading machine-readable passports to e-Passports and digitizing embarkation/disembarkation cards to improve travel efficiency.

Finance Minister Colm Imbert announced that the Cabinet has authorized this transition, highlighting benefits like enhanced security with embedded chips, faster processing at airports, and global recognition.

Additionally, an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) will be implemented for better border control.

Plans for a digital embarkation/disembarkation card system will align with international standards and ensure data protection, with implementation expected in 2025.
