ALL TRAVELLERS ARE ADVISED that with the exception of trips to Tobago, you must BE PREPARED FINANCIALLY in the event that you or someone travelling along with you, TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID 19 whilst on a trip.
Most Caribbean Islands have advised Travellers that any medical expenses and accommodation at Government facilities will be at the Travellers' own expense should they become COVID positive whilst on a trip to the Island.
It is advisable to cater approximately US$1,400 / TT$ 9,520 (as a minimum) per Traveller to specifically cover for 14 days isolation / quarantine if it becomes necessary. This will be in addition to your airfare and Hotel costs and should ideally be on your credit card for use at short notice. We do not recommend to keep this money as cash in hand, for security reasons.
In addition, some Islands are requiring an Insurance Certificate prior to entry and this cost will be at a minimum of around TT$500 per Traveller.
We would like all Members to take the above information into consideration prior to requesting costings for trips as many have inquired thus far and are genuinely interested in travelling again but are unable to cater the additional monies for quarantine.

RE: INSURANCE CERTIFICATE FOR TRAVEL TO CURACAO.
If you have been to Curacao recently (March / April) please share with us your experience in obtaining travel insurance for the Curacao trip. We are seeking information on which Insurance Companies in Trinidad are offering coverage in particular for quarantine costs and medical costs associated with testing positive for COVID 19 whilst on a trip.
Also, if a traveller has cash / monies on their credit card to cover the possible quarantine costs, is this accepted as an option at all or is it that the Insurance Certificate is mandatory?.
Any information on this issue will be appreciated.

UPDATE: REOPENING OF OPERATIONS FROM 1ST APRIL, 2022.

A decision was taken to re-open operations effective tomorrow, 1st April, 2022. However, membership will be limited to past Members for year 2015 thru year 2020. We anticipate there will still be some challenges and prefer to work through those with our Membership who are already familiar with us and have utilized our full services inclusive of the booking process. If a non-Member wishes to accompany a Member on a trip, we will facilitate only those particular persons becoming Members but our services will not be opened to the General Public as yet. In other words, no trips should comprise of new Members only. Any changes with regards to this will be announced.

Membership cards should become available within 14 days and we will decide soon if we will sell those on a cash basis as before or if we will switch to WiPay and send off cards via TTPost TrackPak. The official Membership Program will run from 1st April, 2022 to 31 March, 2023. You can commence bookings and we will assign Membership numbers until the physical cards are available for you to purchase. We will retain the card image from Year 2020 and continue with the same number sequence, the new cards will bear the new expiration date of 31 March, 2023.

A major change is that we will not advertise packages on the page to generate interest from the General Public but instead we invite present and past Members who wish to book a trip to request customized travel packages for your particular travel dates and destination/s.

After a 2 year wait, it feels great to be able to commence operations again and we are excited for the year ahead. We hope to work with some new Hotels in this year and as always, pride ourselves in offering our Members some of the best Hotels & Resorts of the Caribbean. SEEKING FEEDBACK on WiPay as a method of payment.

We are considering WiPay as an alternative to our Cash only method of payment for Membership cards. If any of our members who own small businesses OR just Members who have used the WiPay services are willing to share their experience, we will appreciate it. Reviews online are a bit mixed with many stating long delays in getting the account set up and accessing cash after customers have paid, so we would like to know what your experience was like with WiPay.

From our understanding, the seller is required to set up an account and send the link to buyers to pay via credit card. The buyers do not need a WiPay account for the transaction to take place. Would you, our Members, feel comfortable with this method of payment or prefer to continue to purchase the cards at the mall outlets and pay with cash for it?.

If we do decide to utilize WiPay all Membership cards will have to be sent out via TTPOST TrackPak Service.

Additionally, we are exploring this option as we are considering to operate from Tobago in the near future and in that case, selling the cards through the mall outlets in Trinidad will prove difficult.

We would appreciate your thoughts on this and the option of facilitating credit card payments via our official website is also a possibility for the future but not one we are looking at right now.

MEMBERSHIP ADVISORY
STATUS ON TRAVEL CLUB OPERATIONS FOR YEAR 2022:
We will continue to assist year 2020 Members with their bookings / re-bookings. Reminder that to make contact for booking inquiries, there are 2 options available:

We have noted that Caribbean Islands have been relaxing the restrictions for entries / stays. At this time, no decision has been taken regarding offering new membership in year 2022. Our Membership Program runs normally from January to December each year (this is strongly preferred) and it is a bit inconvenient to start it at this time but we are still considering the possibility of offering a Membership Plan from April 2022 to March 2023. However, we will advise further on this. The decision can go either way so it is not advisable that potential members await our travel offerings. One of the impacts that remains an issue is the shortage of US$ and this will seriously affect Members' ability to arrange wire transfer payments for stays. As most of you are aware our top selling Resorts require payment via this method and those who are re-booking currently are encountering a problem with obtaining US$. Most Commercial Banks will tell you they can arrange the payment in parts but the Resort requires a one off payment and also multiple payments will result in increased costs for our Members for each wire transfer done. In addition, flights are still limited, many destinations that had frequent flights now have flights once or twice per week so this will affect travellers budget and their ability to get their desired stay dates. Package offerings will be limited. Already year 2020 Members are having to switch up destinations in order to work with what is currently available.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will publish our decision on the page if we do decide to sell new Membership this year.

For now, all our efforts will go towards servicing those who had already bought year 2020 membership or were entitled to it. Packages will be customized according to their needs and therefore we will not be advertising packages on the page unless we decide to invite new Members to join this year.

We do apologize for the inconvenience caused as a result of the above. We are aware that some of our past Members (prior to year 2020) and potential Members were awaiting our full reopening. We wish to thank you for your support and patience and will advise as soon as a firm decision is made.

Wishing our Travel Club Members and Travellers and by extension your families, all the very best for 2022.
We had a rough 2020 and 2021 and start this new year with hopes that we can soon return to normal operations. There is still a lot of uncertainty and we continue to monitor the situation with the new Omicron variant. We would like to commence business from February 2022 but will confirm in the last week of January if it seems viable at that point in time.
Reminder that all those who hold year 2020 Membership will be allowed the full 12 months use of their cards from the date of re-commencement of operations.
Wishing all of you good health and happiness. Keep safe and we look forward to being of service to you guys soon.

IMPORTANT UPDATE AS AT 19 JULY, 2021:
With T&T's borders having been reopened on Saturday 17th July, there have been a number of calls and messages regarding Travel, please bear with us as we try to return all calls and respond to emails and Whatsapp messages within the next 2-3 days.

Please note the following points:

#1: Currently, we will deal with all those who had already purchased membership for Year 2020 or were entitled to year 2020 Complimentary Membership and now wish to RE-BOOK or BOOK A TRIP.

#2: Management has decided that we will not take in NEW members at this time, therefore there will not be any Membership cards on sale until possibly October 2021, depending on the circumstances that exist at that time. So again, from today until September 30th, only those who had Year 2020 Membership should make contact with us.

#3: Due to the long period of closure since March 2020 until July 2021, many Hotels and Resorts have suffered the economic impact of the Pandemic and in an attempt to avoid closure, some Hotels have changed hands and are under new Management. All contracts with Hotels were valid up to 31 December, 2020. New contracts will be sort from the Hotels and Resorts that have remained in operation.

#4: We will not post packages for booking but prefer that those who wish to rebook / book a trip, contact us once they ensure they are eligible for Travel to the particular Caribbean Island taking into consideration that some Islands are not accepting the Sinopharm vaccine as vaccinated status and travellers will be required to quarantine upon arrival (at the traveler's cost), some Islands are still under Curfew etc.

#5: It is recommended that all persons Travelling must have received their full vaccination and have proof of it via their International Immunization Cards available for check upon arrival at their destination.

#6. For all re-bookings, we kindly ask that Members please contact the Airlines first to ensure you can get accepted on a flight for your desired travel date and then the Hotel / Resort booking with Travel Club T & T will follow. At the start of the Pandemic most Airlines contacted Travellers via email and have granted credits to be used at a further date. As a result of this, Travel Club T&T can not assist you with re-booking air tickets online using credits but instead the Airline will handle this responsibility to re-book you for your new travel dates.

#7. Our operations will remain partially open until 30 September and hopefully will be fully operational from 1st October, 2021 when we can run the Membership for our usual period of October thru December of the following year, which includes 3 months of Complimentary Membership.

#8. We are aware that so many of you have been awaiting the reopening of borders to be able to take that much needed vacation. We all need it! However, please take all precautions with travel at this time especially if you have Children at home. Many things still remain uncertain regarding this virus and with the Delta and Lambda variants out there, it would be advisable to travel only if really necessary.

#9: With many of our T & T Citizens still to be vaccinated or fully vaccinated we anticipate a low level of operation and demand for travel in July and August (until all Adults are vaccinated). As a consequence of this, Travel Club T & T will not return to full operations just yet. The economic impact has affected many pockets and those who normally travel on a yearly basis or a couple times for the year may not be able to immediately return to it. Therefore we will seek feedback from Members on the fairness of starting off the Membership Program now to run for the 12 months for those who already bought Membership OR if the start should be delayed until September / October 2021. We will appreciate our Members' feedback so we can take decisions that will be fair to you and better serve you.
