台南巿政府觀光旅遊局秉持活化在地歷史文化資產及推廣道地美食小吃的施政重點和精神，舉辦2012台南美食節，除美食集點活動外，還舉辦甜蜜集點馬拉松，全區集點最多的人將另頒發獎金；此外，甜蜜城巿美食達人賞及舌尖台南美食徵文比賽，廣邀知名美食部落客和其他也喜愛寫部落格分享美食及旅行的民眾一起報名來參與，希望能藉由大家親身的體驗分享及行程建議，便利全國各地的民眾來台南旅行；本次活動結合APP服務便利民眾查詢活動店家或活動相關資訊等，讓民眾藉由本次的創意活動規劃，盡情暢遊大台南。
