Being the most distinctive Hakka festival in southern Taiwan, "Liugdui Autumn Harvest Festival" is an annual event that turns the traditional custom into a cultural celebration that all people can participate in.
The bucket lists that everyone shouldn't miss out in 2024:

1: On November 2, 2024, the opening ceremony of thousands of people worshiping Bagˋ Gungˊ—
→It is a presentation that combines the unique customs and life aesthetics of Liugdui Hakka Village.

2: On November 30, 2024, a thousand-people feast—
→Table cuisine presented by the traditional Hakka cooking techniques of southern Taiwan and the specialty of Liugdui area.

On November 2 and 9, 2024, Autumn Harvest Picnic and Cultural Experience—

🍲 Eat Like a Chef: "LU" | Exploring Taiwan’s "Lu" with Chefs (Full Version) 🌟

Chef Chudaree "Tam" Debhakam from Baan Tepa, a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Thailand, was invited by Chef Kai Ho from Taïrroir, a three-Michelin-star restaurant in Taiwan, to explore one of the core concepts of Taiwanese cuisine—"Lu". From braised pork rice and beef noodle soup to braised pork trotters and assorted braised snacks, they delve into the rich connections of Taiwanese cuisine. Both chefs created a dish inspired by "Lu", showcasing the diverse and exciting facets of this culinary tradition. 🍜🥢

🍜Traditional Noodle Making

Stringy, chewy, and delicately savory, mianxian, or wheat vermicelli, is one of Taiwan’s most popular types of noodles. Though most mianxian on the market is mass-produced using modern machinery, the chewiest noodles are the ones still made the old-fashioned way. In the mountains southeast of Taipei City, one artisan, Hsu Jen-ping, has been making small-batch hand-pulled mianxian for almost thirty years.🍲

The "2024 See the Queen's Head Illuminated at Night" event will be held at Yehliu Geopark from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on June 28 (Friday) to July 21 (Sunday) , the Yehliu landscape combines projection mapping, coastal water curtains, fountain water dance, animation, music and other effects to create a dazzling and gorgeous sound and light show.
The“2024 See the Queen's Head Illuminated at Night” event is themed on Yehliu Vientiane and plans 8 major light areas. Among them, the highlight of the beach area "Big Queen's electric light flint reflection water dance" continues the design of last year's circular water curtain fountain water dance show, and is updated this year. Adding the element of fire, through the changes of water, fire and light, the beauty of the North Coast and the strange rock formations of Yeliu will be presented to everyone. In addition, 3 performances will be launched for the first time this year (6/28, 7/5 and 7/19 at 8pm Point) water dance show combined with drone performance, a stunning visual feast of sea, land and air, so stay tuned! The is on June 30, 2024, starting at 12 PM EST 🌈! Since the Stonewall Uprising in 1969, this march has become a powerful annual civil rights demonstration.

This year, the Taiwan Pride team, in collaboration with 僑委會紐約僑教中心 OCAC in New York OCAC New York, will be led by RuPaul's Drag Race winner Nymphia Wind 妮妃雅 🏳️‍🌈🇹🇼. Gather at 23rd Street and 5th Ave between 2 PM and 4 PM. The march will pass the Stonewall National Monument. Remember sunblock and hydration!

The will take place on June 30, 2024, starting from 12:00pm🌈!

New York has a long history of fighting for LGBTQ equality with the breakout of Stonewall Uprising in 1969. Since the first march in 1970, the march has evolved into an annual civil rights demonstration to raise awareness of the fight against AIDS and honor those whose lives were lost to illness, violence, and neglect.

This year, the Taiwan Pride team, in collaboration with Tour Taiwan - America and 僑委會紐約僑教中心 OCAC in New York will be led by the latest winner Nymphia Wind 妮妃雅, representing Taiwan’s diversity🏳️‍🌈🇹🇼. The Taiwan Pride team plans to gather around 23rd Street, and 5th Ave with an estimated departure time from 2pm-4pm. The entire march is set to head west on 8th Street, eventually passing the Stonewall National Monument. If you plan to join the march on that day, don’t forget to guard yourself up with sunblock and stay hydrated!

Lukang Dragon Boat Festival🐲🚣‍♂️
June 8 ~ June 10

One of the big three annual traditional festivals in Taiwan, the Dragon Boat Festival is best known for dragon boat races. These are staged on rivers and lakes in more than a dozen locations around the island, including Taipei’s Keelung River and Kaohsiung’s Love River. In recent years the competition at Lukang, which takes place on the Fulu River, has emerged as perhaps the most attractive dragon-boat race event. Making it special is the fact that the races take place in the late afternoon and evening with boats, bridges, and riverbanks colorfully illuminated. Many of the town’s streets are also lavishly decorated for the occasion. Lukang is a history-rich old settlement, once a thriving saltwater port, that is great for nostalgia trips for those who want to experience the Taiwan of yesteryear.
