🌏✨ Taiwan Tourism shines at the USTOA Annual Conference! ✨🌏

The Taiwan Tourism Administration was represented by three directors from their New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco offices at the USTOA (United States Tour Operator Association) annual conference and marketplace held in Florida last week.

USTOA stands as a significant travel association in North America, and Taiwan has proudly been a member for many years, cherishing this long-standing partnership. This year's event attracted over 850 participants from around the globe, including tour operators, national tourism offices, and airline partners. Taiwan not only engaged in more than 30 individual meetings but also joined seven other countries at the “World Bazaar.”

The Taiwan booth was a highlight of the evening, drawing much interest with its charming small Dragon lanterns! Let’s dive into this dynamic and rewarding B2B event!

台灣觀光署北美三個辦事處，紐約、洛杉磯和舊金山辦事處三位主任在上週共同參與2024年USTOA (United States Tour Operator Association) 美國旅遊業者協會舉辦的盛大年會，成果相當豐碩!

USTOA美國旅遊業者協會年會是每年北美地區最重要的B2B旅遊業者會議，今年出席人數超過850名旅遊業者及世界各國國家旅遊局、航空公司等。會議期間除了緊鑼密鼓進行了超過三十多場的一對一業者會談，台灣也參與辦理了World Bazaar的世界市場攤位活動。

因應即將到來的農曆年，台灣攤位這次在現場準備了各種小提燈應景，向所有旅遊業者介紹，其中「小龍包」龍年提燈最受大家歡迎，另外還有象徵享用台灣美食的筷子、台灣品牌3.0 Taiwan Waves of Wonder的摺扇、徽章等紀念品，台灣攤位在活動當晚大排長龍，超級熱門! 一起來看看這場緊湊的B2B推廣活動吧!

2024全球綠色目的地年會（Global Green Destinations Day Conference）於12月10日至12日在智利蓬塔阿雷納斯（Punta Arenas)舉行，其中12月11日會議首日晚間辦理2024全球綠色目的地百大故事獎頒獎典禮，臺灣共有9個單位獲獎，是臺灣歷年獲獎數量最多的一屆，展現對自然保護、文化傳承與社區永續的卓越成果！讓台灣的努力登上國際舞台。🏆

台灣永續旅遊協會陳盈潔理事長亦在年會座談會分享包含東北角暨宜蘭海岸、日月潭及澎湖國家風景區的成功案例，介紹整合目的地、海岸生態保育，及地方參與等工作，包含同時鼓勵業者包裝遊程，讓旅客親身體驗海洋之美，成為永續旅遊的全球典範。🐢💙

At the 2024 Global Green Destinations Day in Chile, Taiwan earned nine awards at the Top 100 Green Destinations Stories Ceremony—the highest in its history! These achievements highlight Taiwan’s excellence in environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community sustainability. 🏆

Monique Chen, Chairwoman of the Sustainable Travel Taiwan, shared success stories from the Northeast Coast, Sun Moon Lake, and Penghu, emphasizing eco-preservation, local engagement, and sustainable travel.

🌟 台灣阿里山茶文化推廣活動亮相華府！ 🌟
12月6日，台灣觀光署與史密松寧協會（Smithsonian Associates）在華府Ripley Center一同舉行「台灣阿里山觀光及茶藝文化推廣活動」，吸引上百名來賓共襄盛舉。🍃☕

此次活動特別邀請了台灣知名茶藝師洪崇倫先生進行茶藝展示。當日老師介紹了多款獲獎的阿里山高山茶，包括日燿烏龍、安得紅茶和GABA茶，並帶領來賓品茗。活動現場茶香四溢，來賓們紛紛驚艷於阿里山高山茶的醇厚與甘潤。除了茶藝表演，洪老師還分享了阿里山的雲海與日出、鄒族的原住民文化和高山茶的歷史淵源，讓來賓對台灣壯麗的自然美景與多元的人文風情產生濃厚興趣。🌄✨

活動當日除了茶藝展示，台灣觀光署、中華航空和長榮航空也設置展位，向來賓介紹各種台灣旅遊的觀光資訊及優惠方案，並積極推廣台灣觀光品牌3.0，讓華府乃至全球的國際旅客更加了解台灣，並吸引更多人前來台灣旅遊。✈️

On December 6th, the Taiwan Tourism Administration and Smithsonian Associates hosted the seminar “Tea Traditions of Taiwan: A Taste of the Alishan Region” at the Ripley Center in Washinton, D.C. The event drew over 100 attendees for an immersive journey of Taiwanese tea culture. 🍃 🍵

Taiwanese tea master Mr. Hong Chung-Lun led an engaging tea ceremony, guiding guests through a tasting of award-winning Alishan high-mountain teas. The selection featured Alish-an Glorious Honey-Fragrant Oolong, Alishan Amber Black Tea, and Alishan GABA Tea. The smooth, aromatic brews filled the room, enchanting everyone with the exquisite flavors and fragrances of Alishan's finest teas. ✨💫

Alongside the tea demonstration, Master Hong revealed the wonders of Alishan, from its breathtaking cloud seas and sunrises to the rich heritage of the indigenous Tsou people and the history of high-mountain tea. His sharing sparked a deeper appreciation for Taiwan’s beauty and cultural heritage. 🌄✨

During the event, Taiwan Tourism Administration, China Airlines, and EVA Air also set up booths to introduce various Taiwan tourism information and promotional offers. This initiative not only highlighted Taiwan's Tourism Brand 3.0 but also provided international travelers in Washington, D.C., and beyond with a better understanding of the destination, encouraging more people to visit Taiwan. ✈️

📸Capturing the Moment - A Journey Through Painting and Photography🎨
瞬間 - 穿越繪畫與攝影之旅

Capture the Moment, curated by Gregor Muir and Beatriz Garcia-Velasco, explores the interplay between painting and photography from the mid-20th century onward. The exhibition features 55 works from the Tate collection and the YAGEO Foundation, showcasing how artists across mediums capture fleeting moments and crystallize them into enduring representations of life and history. Drawing on Susan Sontag's observation that "the painter constructs, the photographer discloses," the exhibition highlights the dynamic relationship between theses art forms in modern art history.
