Lunar New Year's Eve Bell-Ringing Ceremony in Taiwan!

Do you know how Buddhist monasteries and temples in Taiwan ring in the Lunar New Year? Traditionally, Buddhist monasteries and temples ring the great bells 108 times on the Lunar New Year's Eve to symbolize the removal of all sentient beings' 108 kinds of afflictions. Dharma Drum Mountain in Taiwan will hold the Bell-Ringing Ceremony to pray for the world while ringing in the Lunar New Year of the Snake.

Award-Winning Designer Johnny Chiu Inspires with Refreshing Ideas

Vintage iron grilles weaving intricate patterns across windows. Plants sprouting on sills and outer walls. Dense urban cores, convenience stores, five-story walk-ups, industrial sprawl, jungle-clad hills. These are some of the elements of the Taiwanese aesthetic that are interpreted by local designers in their work, both in Taiwan and on the world stage. Johnny Chiu, founder of JC. Architecture and Design, is one such talent. He recently sat down with Travel in Taiwan to discuss not just today’s Taiwanese design, but also its history, identity, and future.

🌏✨ Taiwan Tourism shines at the USTOA Annual Conference! ✨🌏

The Taiwan Tourism Administration was represented by three directors from their New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco offices at the USTOA (United States Tour Operator Association) annual conference and marketplace held in Florida last week.

USTOA stands as a significant travel association in North America, and Taiwan has proudly been a member for many years, cherishing this long-standing partnership. This year's event attracted over 850 participants from around the globe, including tour operators, national tourism offices, and airline partners. Taiwan not only engaged in more than 30 individual meetings but also joined seven other countries at the “World Bazaar.”

The Taiwan booth was a highlight of the evening, drawing much interest with its charming small Dragon lanterns! Let’s dive into this dynamic and rewarding B2B event!

台灣觀光署北美三個辦事處，紐約、洛杉磯和舊金山辦事處三位主任在上週共同參與2024年USTOA (United States Tour Operator Association) 美國旅遊業者協會舉辦的盛大年會，成果相當豐碩!

USTOA美國旅遊業者協會年會是每年北美地區最重要的B2B旅遊業者會議，今年出席人數超過850名旅遊業者及世界各國國家旅遊局、航空公司等。會議期間除了緊鑼密鼓進行了超過三十多場的一對一業者會談，台灣也參與辦理了World Bazaar的世界市場攤位活動。
