What is it? The Serengeti's most famous phenomenon is the Great Migration, an annual movement of millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles across the park in search of greener pastures and water.
Why does it happen? The migration is driven by the seasonal changes in rainfall and vegetation across the Serengeti ecosystem. As the rains move, the herds follow in search of fresh grass and water.
