Wildebeest follow the rain and are said to be able to smell it from thousands of kilometers away. More than 1.5 to 2 Million Wildebeest make the long trek across Tanzania every year and it is an impressive sight to see! It is considered to be one of the 7 Wonders of the Natural World.

Giraffes are the master of the power nap!! They sleep in 30 second to 2 minutes intervals throughout the day, racking up only about 30 minutes of total sleep time. Giraffes in captivity sleep longer, up to as much as 4 hours per day.

Yes, that is right it is national sea monkey day! Sold in the toy section in the USA as a barrel of monkeys, you can grow your very own "sea monkeys"! So what does that have to do with flamingos? "Sea monkeys" are actually brine shrimp, and brine shrimp are a main component of the flamingo diet. As it happens, their pink coloring comes from the algae the brine shrimp eat.
