Their habitats range from Africa, Asia America and Australian, preferring on fresh water especially on lakes and rivers.
They are semi-aquatic, means they dwell both on land as well as on land according to their activities and behavior in general. Forexample on day they like to bask on sun for body temperature regulation.
Crocodiles are pure canivorous and use ambush technique for hunting. They feed mostly on fish, amphibius, wide range of mammals especially ungulates, birds, and sometimes male adults do behave cannibalism on young crocodiles or feeding on eggs when the female is not close to her nest. Young crocodiles feed mostly on crustaceans, toads and on some other small aquatic creatures.
Crocodiles lay eggs of hard shell, mating take place in water and females lay 7 to 90 eggs(according to species) after excavating a hole by their hind legs.
The crocodile's eggs don't possess s*x chromosomes as of mammals which determined genetically, the s*x is usually determined by temperature where as when the temperature is below 31°C the hatchling became females, 32°C the hatchling became either male or female but when the temperature is above 33°C more than 75% hachling became males.
In addition the temperature plays a big role on crocodiles dimorphism forexample
When the temperature is above 33°C and the hachling became Females, these females will be with some male's characters, like massive body, aggressive e.t.c.
The incubation period is usually around 80-90 days according to species and temperature.
Female is acts aggressively to protect her eggs and youngs, during incubation females tend to do not practice hunting except for chance, and after incubation she carries her hatchling into water by her mouth.
They live up to 75 in the wild, and up to 100 in captivity.
Crocodiles are very dangerous to human if they are interfered.
