Day 1 Arrival in Arusha

You will be picked up from the airport by a Deeper Serengeti Safaris representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come

DAY 2: ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

We depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is famous for its herds of Elephants and ancient Baobab trees. This park is also well known for its high concentration of game and fantastic bird life. Other animals to be spotted include leopards, giraffes, zebras, lions, etc. We enjoy a game drive until late afternoon and then drive to Karatu for Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge/Bougainvillea Lodge

DAY 3: KARATU TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

We depart after breakfast to Serengeti via the Ngorongoro conservation area where we have a picnic lunch. We arrive for an afternoon game drive on the northern side of Serengeti, entering the park. Serengeti offers the most enthralling game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo and wildebeests, groups of elephants and giraffes, eland, impala and Grant’s gazelle, lions, leopards, and many others. DAY 4: FULL GAME DRIVE IN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at around 0800am. Proceed with morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the Luxury tented camp in the mid-afternoon. The term Serengeti means endless plains in the Masai language. In the central plains, there are carnivores like leopards, lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, storks, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes, and guinea fowl. The Serengeti National Park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen there including the “big 5” - Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard, and Buffalo. Other common species found here include hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope types, baboons, monkeys, and a profusion of over 500 species of birds. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra begin their annual spectacular migration northwards. In their wake follow predators, lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs with vultures circling overhead! Come back to the tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Full Budget Camping Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast Tarangire park game drives with packed lunch for a game drive. Tarangire National Park is almost 3000 sq km in size and is probably best known for its huge numbers of elephants and baobab trees. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June – November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water). With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River, the park is home to over 2000 elephants and 500 bird species. Later afternoon depart the park and drive to Kizumba Campsite for dinner and overnight on a full board basis

Day 2: Mto Wa mbu - Serengeti National Park

Depart Mto wa mbu after breakfast and drive to Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The lush plains of the Serengeti have made it an ideal home to wildlife for millions of years. This ancient ecosystem continues to thrive and wildebeests, zebras, gazelles and giraffes are often seen grazing in herds. This is one of the best places in the world to spot lions dozing in a shade. Also, leaping after a marked prey or gnawing off a share of their hunt. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Campsite on full board basis

Day 3: Serengeti National park- Ngorongoro Crater

Today we will have a half day game drive in Serengeti then after lunch we will drive to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. There are several documented resident lion prides just within a one-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River. Dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite on full board basis

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

Breakfast then drive to Ngorongoro and descent into the Crater with picnic lunch boxes for game drive. Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometers wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including elephants, warthogs, flamingos, magnificent bird-life, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest. Later afternoon ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha.

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa,The Serengeti National Park with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park and later evening drive to tented camp

The Tarangire national park and Ngorongoro Crater are not very far from each other and with a range of accommodations having set up at Karatu (just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation), you can do a very rewarding safari in Tanzania in just 2 days and one night stay at one of the many lodges and campsites found around Karatu area or Lake Manyara areas which are actually midway between the two wildlife areas.

Day 1: Tarangire National Park

Depart from Arusha airport / Hotel you will drive across a beautiful and scenic Masai Steppe to Makuyuni junction and take left along the Arusha – towards Tarangire National Park. Arrive at the park’s gate at Tarangire and after your driver has sorted out the paperwork you start game drives almost straight away from the gate in a bid to see as many animals and birds a possible. Your professional safari guide will take you to the best wildlife-spotting areas of the park including the Tarangire River which is a permanent river that works as a bloodline for the park ensuring animals flock the river banks in search of water throughout the year. You expect to see elephants, elands, wildebeests, buffaloes, zebras, gerenuks, giraffes, and a lot of birds. Lunch will be taken at one of the picnic sites. Later in the afternoon, you will drive out of the park and your guide will take you to Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and overnight at lodge

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, your 2 days Tanzania safari will continue as we take you to the Ngorongoro crater. You will start by driving to the gate for check-in and afterward drive up to the crater rim, stop for some nice view & pictures at the Crater viewpoint before ascending 600 meters steep to the crater floor for a wonderful game viewing. The unfolded caldera is sometimes referred to as the 8th wonder of the world & it is home to a larger number of animal species. Yearly adequate water supply & fodders in the crater supports a large number of wildlife which include herds of wildebeest, buffalo, African elephant, zebra, eland, hippos, gazelle & the rare black rhino.

Ngorongoro Crater is also home to a dense population of predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals, birds are abundant from some flocks of flamingos at Lake Magadi, pelicans, Ibises, ostrich, goose & other county birds.
