Food is life in Tanzania but this isn’t just a food tour of the city. The day kicks off with a cooking class where we’ll be learning how to make mandazi (sweet doughnuts) and cook ugali (a staple food in Tanzania). Whilst you’re honing your new craft I’ll tell you all about the culinary specialities of Tanzania, and what the locals eat on pretty much a daily basis. Then it comes to eating! There are some certain customs to observe if you want to blend in and avoid offence. Did you show you should never smell your food here? And there is an art to eating ugali with only your right hand! After class, we’ll head to the fresh produce market where I’ll introduce you to locally grown fruits and vegetables – challenge me to find you something you’ve never tasted before. I’ve never failed yet!
Finally, we’ll make a stop at my personal favourite places to grab some of the most iconic delicacies on offer.
This is a truly immersive and interactive tour where you take away more than a full belly, but also the knowledge of customs and the skills of cooking Tanzanian chakula!

If you want to immerse yourself in the music scene and nightlife of Dar es Salaam, you gotta have the moves to groove with it! Spend the afternoon in a two-hour Afrobeats dance class with expert instructors who will have you getting down low and shaking your booty. Once you’re confidence you’ve got the moves like Jagger we’ll head to the scene. I’ll offer you a variety of music hangouts to strut your stuff with the locals, depending on your music taste.
Just know that, anyone can dance 😉
The journey to Ngorongoro is half the fun, climbing up first through patches of forest to the crater rim, and then descending into the crater itself. On clear days, the views from the rim are breathtaking.
If you ask me what i was doing, my answer is I don't even know 🙈
They say the best way to learn a language is just to start speaking it. This combined experience will have you conversing with the locals by the afternoon -guaranteed!
We’ll start the day by introducing you to the beautifully phonic and melodic language of Kiswahili.
I’ll teach you some of the origins of the language – and some words you probably already know, even if you’re not aware! This isn’t just guidebook Swahili, we’ll cut straight to the words and greetings most commonly use, focussing on how to order food and buy goods. Then, once you’re confident with some key phrases, we’ll head out to the most bustling market area in Dar: Kariakoo market.
Here you’re going to knock the socks off the stallholders by conversing with them in perfect Swahili – I dare you!
Don’t worry, I’ll be right by your side throughout. Expect laughter, amusement, and music as we fill up your toolkit with introductory Swahili.
The rare moment is not the moment when there is something worth looking at, but the moment when we are capable of seeing.😳😊😍
Are you in Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam and want to visit mikumi park? Dont you worry its very easy , all you need to do is just to hit the WhatsApp button down there 🙃
I'd love to assist you
Looking into the crater is like being on top of the world, peering into the pristine Garden of Eden. It’s not known as the 8th Wonder of the World for nothing. After spotting herds of buffalo and wildebeest from afar (Lion King style) we descend into the crater itself. I call this tour ‘Finding Harmony’, because the Ngorongoro Crater reserve is a prime example of just that; the most majestic and recognisable of Africa’s large animals living alongside native tribes. A co-existence that has lasted millennia. Because of the concentration of animals, we’re likely to come across all of the famous ‘Big’ five safari animals; lion, leopard, rhinoceros elephant, and buffalo (did you know the origin of the big 5 is that they were the hardest animals to trophy hunt on foot!
In the current climate of conservation and endangered species, what would be your ‘bucket list big 5’ to see with your eyes and shoot with your camera? Don’t forget to tell me in advance)
On the topic of cameras, I also hope that this tour tunes you in to the Tanzanian way of life; finding harmony in yourself.
