TRAVELLERS WITNESSES

Exactly a week left for my 20th visit to Africa. It was August 2014, when I visited it for the first time. Addiction, passion, and craziness turned me to take it up seriously as a co-profession. For the upcoming safari starting next Saturday, I needed two HDD with an empty space of at-least 300 GB each, so that images are duplicated and stored in two different HDD as a safety measure. (As a beginner you tend to shoot more, but with experience you become selective and take less images and observe more, only to trigger shutter in case of exclusive opportunity; so this 300 GB seems enough for me. But if you are visiting for the first time then my suggestion is to take 1 TB HDD). For that I started emptying my older HDD to free up the space by deleting images and video that are not upto mark. Rather than buying a new HDD this is the economic and "educational" approach I took! For deleting images and videos you have to inspect them and this inspection or perusal acts as a learning tool. You not only become aware of the mistakes you committed but it also reminds you how to avoid them if similar situation presents before you next time. Coming to the photographic point: I started perusal of images from 2014 African safari. This image of a jackal pups playing is one of my favourite image from that maiden African safari. I processed it in monochrome just to drive attention to the action and also to give myself a nostalgic feeling! When I recollect this moment, it taught me one important lesson in wildlife photography. In wildlife Safari, keep your eyes and ears open, finger on the shutter release button and MOUTH SHUT!
