THE SOUTHERN GROUND HORN BILL

Also scientifically known as "CORACIIFORMES" family BUTHEROTIDAE
They have bills shaped like a cow's horn but without a twist sometimes with a casque on the upper mandible frequent the bill is brightly colored
HABITAT:usually prefer to live in wide range of grass land, savannah, woodland, grass land
FEEDING ON: they mainly eat animals such as insects , frogs, mangooses and bird nestlings.
EGGS: lays 1-2 rarely 3
INCUBATION :the eggs are incubated solely by the female for 37-43 day

Lake duluti- a paradise for birds and reptiles

Lake duluti is formed inside a volcanic ctrater and has water throughout the year mainly from ground water and season rainfall
The depth of the lake is about 1100m across and covers an area of 63ha the wall of the crater up to 200 m high
The lake itself also provides perfect habitat for water birds is claimed to have up to 130 different species
The most common birds that cqn be easly seen include grey heroen ,fish eagle,cormorant,osprey,egreat,and king fisher also apart from birds there are reptiles such as nile monitor lizards ,snakes e.t.c

Visitor to lake duluti can go a canoeing to explore the lake for a different perspective
