👀 Have you ever seen a plant like this? No, these aren’t on Pandora 🪐 These giant groundsels can only be found on Mt Kilimanjaro! In fact, their scientific name is named after the mountain - “dendrosenecio kilimanajri”.

We’ll mark this down as reason number 258 of why Kilimanjaro is truly one of a kind ⚡️

Kilimanjaro is one of the “seven summits” - the highest mountains in each of the seven continents in the world. Though many of the seven summits - like Mt. Everest in Asia - require technical skills and serious mountaineering experience, Kilimanjaro can be climbed by anyone with the right mindset and adequate physical fitness. PERSPECTIVE | Summit night on Mt. Kilimanjaro will be tough, there’s no other way to put it. To reach the top, you’ll have to endure 6 to 8 hours in the harsh cold, with over a kilometer of vertical gain. As draining as this journey will be - both physically and mentally - don’t forget to take a few moments to pause, look around, and soak it all in. If you focus solely on the summit, you may not notice the beauty amidst the misery. After all, it’s the journey, not just the destination that counts 😉

MARVEL l Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the few places in the world where you’ll find snow on the equator. In fact, many have compared the route to Kilimanjaro’s summit to walking from the equator to the Arctic in a week. From the dense rainforest and shrubby moorland, to the alpine dessert and the snow-capped peak, it’s a spectacular journey through our planet's most incredible landscapes.

PORTER | Dictionaries may define them as “a person employed to carry luggage and other loads” - but we believe they are so much more than that. By carrying food and equipment up the mountain, they quite literally carry the hopes and dreams of countless trekkers on their backs. Without them, reaching the summit and roof of Africa would not be possible.
