Rewind three years. I decided to book a flight to Zanzibar for a much-needed three-week escape. Most people were asking, ‘where is Zanzibar?’ When I explained it’s an island in East Africa, they asked, ‘why there?’. Friends and family were concerned about me travelling alone, and one great friend, Salla, said, ‘I don’t think you’ll come back!’. She was right.
