Marabou Stork ... a portrait of Ugly. Not every bird in Africa has beautiful vibrant colors. This beast is bald because of all the carion it eats. Often called "the undertaker". Standing 5 ft tall, with a 10 ft wing span and a massive beak, he dominates at big cat kills.

And then there's that peculiar "hangy down thing". It is actually an air sac and not used to store food. Males can inflate their gular sacs to 18 inches long. Definitely a way to get noticed by females and everything else on the plains of Africa.
