Celebrating World Bee Day @ Beetopia!

Our lovely neighbours, Katherine & Warren, have created a wonderful, interactive Bee Centre near Arusha National Park which helps to creative awareness about the importance of bees in our ecosystem. We are hoping to offer their tours soon as part of our collection of nearby day trips one can do from our African View Lodge.

I spent a very interesting hour walking around and finished off with a fresh glass of honey soda prepared by Remy - a great way to start my Sunday!

Their one-hour guided tours can be done in English, German or Swahili!

In February a group of Swiss climbers took on the Machame Route in 8 days. They were very lucky with the weather and I was able to do a day trip with them to Moir Hut and back via Fisher’s Camp - a beautiful day trip for acclimating which I can highly recommend!

Congratulations!! All 7 team members summited Kilimanjaro at 8am this morning. And we were right, they had fantastic weather: 5 deg C plus! Peter Skopp also turned 60 today, an incredible way to celebrate his birthday 🎂 🎉

A few days ago a terrible landslide hit the town of Katesh and it’s surrounding areas at the base of Mt Hanang. Together, with other members of TATO, we funded aid to the displaced people of this area:

Aid delivered:-
37,800 Liters of water
2000 liters of cooking Oil.
10 tons of wheat flour
4000 x corrugated iron sheets for roofing
Bulk Supply (suppliers of building materials ) was very kind to deliver FOC the transport
Total cost: TZS 128,200,000.00

We say THANK YOU to Erick (workshop manager/safari organiser) and Hashim (driverguide/birding specialist), whom both work with dedication and passion for Wilkinson Tours. They have been with us for over 15 years. As a gift of gratitude we have arranged a "safari" to Europe for them.
