The Bay of Pigs is located on the southern coast of Cuba, which overlooks the Caribbean Sea. In Spanish, the bay is called Bahía de Cochinos, which sounds like "bay of pigs", but in fact the name of this place is not associated with animals. Cochino is the king triggerfish, a tropical saltwater fish found in the area. On the east side of the Bay of Pigs, you can see unique coral reefs, as well as the Zapata swamps.

Castillo del Moro - a fortress on a rock that once upon a time guarded the entrance to the bay (Castillo del Morro; daily 8.00-20.00; entrance fee). Located 7 km from the city of Santiago de Cuba. The fortress of Castillo del Moro is surrounded by a moat, has strong walls with many guns, drawbridges and passages, and is in excellent condition.

The world-famous writer spent the last years of his life in Cuba. At the insistence of his last wife, he bought a manor not far from his favorite bars. The house was turned into a museum in 1962. Everything remained exactly the same as it was during the life of the writer. Almost the entire free space is occupied by books in dozens of languages of the world, bookshelves reach the ceiling. Together with the Hemingway couple, their numerous pets lived.

The main Catholic cathedral of the country, built in a rather original style. The architects moved away from the traditional European canons and added a bit of local flavor. The cathedral has asymmetrical towers, coral was added to ordinary stone when laying the walls, and the lines of the facade were smoothed out. The remains of Christopher Columbus were kept in the temple for almost 100 years, but then they were sent to Spain.

The Alejandro de Humboldt National Park is a natural reserve popular with tourists, located in the east of the island of Cuba. The reserve was named after the famous German explorer and traveler Alexander von Humboldt, who visited the island at the beginning of the 19th century. Due to the variety of landscapes, significant elevation changes, large size and high endemism of flora and fauna, the park is recognized as a unique natural area not only in the Caribbean, but also among other tropical islands of the planet.

Guantanamo is a prison famous for imprisoned terrorists, brutal torture and human rights scandals. The Guantanamo Bay prison complex is located at the bay of the same name, on the southeast coast of Cuba. Formally, this is Cuban territory, leased indefinitely by the United States of America since 1903 and used as a military base. As a prisoner camp, Guantanamo began operating in January 2002. The reason for this was the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001.

The Gulf of Mexico is a semi-enclosed sea of the Atlantic Ocean, whose waters wash the southern coast of the United States of America, the eastern and northern coasts of Mexico, and the western part of the island of Cuba. The warm subtropical climate and long sandy beaches attract residents of the Midwest and the northern states of the United States to the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Resort hotels and entertainment centers are located in coastal cities and towns. Texas, Louisiana and Florida have major international airports that receive travelers from many countries around the world.

The Bermuda Triangle is a legendary location in the northwestern Atlantic Ocean. It is said that here inexplicable atmospheric phenomena arise in the skies, destroying aircraft, and giant killer waves and whirlpools suddenly appear on the sea, dragging ships to the bottom. Mystics call the triangle "devilish" and inhabit its waters with deep monsters. The Bermuda Triangle has become part of global popular culture, like the ghostly Flying Dutchman. Scary stories slightly tickle the nerves of impressionable tourists vacationing in this region - in the tropical resorts of Puerto Rico, Florida, the Bahamas and Bermuda.

The Ernest Hemingway House Museum is located in the San Francisco de Paula suburb of Havana. This is the only house owned by the writer outside the United States, where he lived intermittently for about 20 years and worked on many works, including the novel For Whom the Bell Tolls and the story The Old Man and the Sea. The two-story building is comfortably located in a large garden in the shade of trees. The organizers of the museum tried not to change anything in the atmosphere at home and preserve all the personal belongings of the writer, a collection of hunting weapons, trophies, paintings, photographs, about 9,000 books in 33 languages, archival documents and manuscripts.

The Capitol in Havana is one of the most famous buildings in the capital of the Republic of Cuba and a popular tourist attraction. Located on Prado Boulevard, it is one of the most impressive buildings in all of Latin America. Externally, the building is very reminiscent of the famous Washington Capitol, where the US Congress meets, and also has a resemblance to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. However, the Havana Capitol is distinctive in its own way, which makes it a truly unique and inimitable object.
