It was interesting to learn that, out of all the possible tours, Aristocractic Lipki was the one chosen by my Canadian tourists. Despite the cold weather, we were able to enjoy the governmental buildings and the wonderful tiny constructions built at the end of 19th/ beginning of the 20th century, and hear stories about their historical owners.

Kyivan Rus 03 November 2019 Walking Tour in English
This is the place where we finished our tour, and at the same time the place where the history of Kyiv started, the place of the oldest settlement, or the city of Kyi. Despite the discouraging rain forecast, we had quite a dry tour. We took our umbrellas and scared it away within 15 minutes! Those who are not afraid always get what they want!

Eternal Glory - Eternal Pain 29 September 2019 Walking Tour in English

War is never pleasant for anybody. On this tour, we immersed ourselves into the events of WW2. We also covered the issue of famine, and the disgusting idea of creating it artificially. You can see us near the monument to the pilot and four-time hero of the USSR. Maybe we dont really look much like planes, but we tried hard. It is a pity that I forgot to take a photo at once, before the other tourists left.

Along the Dnipro River (Right Bank) 22 September 2019 Walking Tour in English
The best views you can get in Kyiv are certainly near the Dnipro. On this tour, we were able to enjoy the parks and look at the cute buildings on our way. The one in the photo is the Puppet Theatre, which was built as a real castle.

Khreshchatyk 15 September 2019 Walking Tour in English
Not every Kyivan realizes the history of Kreshschatyk. In fact, the whole street was completely rebuilt after being completely destroyed in WW2. It contains huge constructions which were supposed to show the glory of the country. We also talked about the meaning of Maidan, and recent events, such as the revolution and the hybrid war.

Rusanivka 20 October 2019 Walking Tour in English
One more wonderful day of "Indian Summer" allowed us enjoy our tour. This time we didn't go to the centre, but walked on the artificially-created island of Rusanivka. Not only were foreigners surprised by this fact, but also Ukrainians. Everyone agreed that a nice walk along the river, with new and funny information, is a great way to spend your weekend productively.

The Latin Quarter 8 September 2019 Walking Tour in English:

Kyivan Rus 25 August 2019 Walking Tour in English:
It was nice to look at our city from a different perspective. We looked for all kinds of objects which have some connection to the Kyivan Rus. In this picture, behind us you can see markings of the oldest stone church in Kyiv. This church, Desyatyna Church (The Church of Tithe), is believed to have been the last stronghold against the Tatar-Mongol invaders.

Hydropark 13 October 2019 Walking Tour in English:
It turned out that the weather was on our side. In the middle of October, we had wonderful summer sunshine, which allowed us to enjoy our trip over the island to the fullest. Beautiful nature, with its green, yellow, and red colours, added charm to the trip. It was funny to realise that, in order to remind foreigners about their motherland, you should take them to the forest LOL Apart from that, I would like to draw your attention to the free open-space gym behind our backs. Kyivans are very proud of this place!

Defending the Motherland 6 October Walking Tour in English:
This was really an emotionally difficult topic, as it reminded us of all the horrible wars our people have had to go through. War is suffering, death, hunger, and destruction. We talked about our heroes who gave their lives for peace, we recalled the horrible orders when victory was more important than the lives of the soldiers, and we looked at some weapons and equipment connected with various conflicts. However, the most poignant point of all was that we can’t say “never again”, since we are currently engaged in an ongoing war…
