About Red Chilli Hide Out

Red Chilli Hide Out is superbly located to explore Murchison. We are at Paraa on the southern bank of the River Nile in the heart of the park. Our camp is just 500 metres from the Paraa ferry, where all vehicles cross the Nile for game drives around the Nile Delta, and from where boats can be hired for game viewing and sport fishing on the Nile – either up to the base of the Falls, or down to the Nile delta at Lake Albert.

About Amajambere Campsite

Amajambere Iwacu Community Camp is located at the entrance to Mgahinga National Park and is only 12 km from the south-western town of Kisoro, near the Rwandan border. At the camp, visitors can enjoy the magnificent views of the famous Virunga Volcanoes and take part in monkey trekking as it is located at the starting point for golden monkey trekking through the National Park.

Amajambere Iwacu Community Camp was established in 1994 by 33 families who were displaced at the gazetting of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The camp runs an eco-community camp for tourists just outside the main gate of the National Park. Apart from providing accommodation for tourists, the camp also supports community-based initiatives such as a handcraft group for women.

There are different volunteer projects you can get involved with during your stay; consider teaching at a local community kindergarten, teach conservation education in nearby public schools or lend a helping hand at the local health clinic.

Important Things to Know When Planning a Road Trip

Driving in Uganda is on the left-hand side of the road so keep left please.
Always wear your seat belt. Everyone in your vehicle must wear a seatbelt, and children must be secured in an approved child seat. Car rental Uganda Company can rent child seats to you if you didn’t bring your own.
Keep to the speed limit and always stop at STOP signs and always slow down to observe recommended speeds around bends.
Overtake other vehicles only when it’s safe to do so. Use passing lanes whenever possible, and never cross a solid yellow line on your side of the centre line.
Stay well-rested. Plan to only drive 1 – 2 hours at a time, and take regular breaks during your journey to stretch your legs. This should be followed by tourists to distant tourist destinations including the national parks.

Location: Apoka Rest Camp is strategically located Narus Valley for game drives, nature walks and scenic viewing where animals such as lions, large herds of Buffaloes, zebras and many others can be seen in this valley. For those interested in viewing wildlife on foot.
