Did you know? There's an old tale of how the White rhinoceros received its name. The story has a few variations, but it basically states that the early Dutch settlers referred to this rhino as having a 'wijde lip' or wide lip. The English mistook the word 'wijde' (meaning wide) for 'white' and so assumed that they were being called white rhinos by the Dutch.
It's such a nice story, and although there is little literature to support it, most guides and authors will also defend it emphatically.

Truth or Myth?
As part of the deal to allow these enormous third-largest mammals to enjoy the waters as much as they want, Hippos open their mouth as wide as possible above the water often to show God that they haven't eaten any fish. Then they get out of the water to dispose of their dung on the land so that God can see that there are no fish bones in their waste. 😅Could it be true?

Today, let me tell you a true love story in the wild East of Africa.😍
What you are seeing in the pitures is an expression of genuine love, affection, and happiness.
Our tour guide to our guests said: Elephants do this often as a greeting to one another. In other words, intertwining their trunks is more like a handshake, a hug, or at the very best a kiss. They cuddle this way, they comfort each other, just like we do.😊What a beautiful display to see in the wild!
