It’s official, tourists and locals can now board a flight from Jinja airfield for a scenic flight . It’s an hour flight that takes you through Jinja City, allowing you to view the tourism city from above then to Mabira Forest and back to JINJA at a low cost.

There are many attractions in Jinja because of the River Nile and the fact that it is one of the most scenic towns in Uganda. It is located in Eastern Uganda and its only two hour’s drive from Kampala. Jinja town was once the leading industrial town because of the hydro-electricity dam along the Nile. The expulsion of Asians in the late 1970’s by the Ugandan Dictator Idi Amin Dada marked the beginning of its collapse as the industrial hub of the country. As the Asians left, the economy crumbled and the Ugandans who replaced them at the time were too inexperienced to manage the industries
